Market Snippet

Nifty

Markets were driven by the key driver Infosys on the first day of
the week as its robust revenue growth helped the indices and IT
shares to lead. Despite of weak global indices and dampened oil
prices Indian indices managed to sustain on higher side and
closed on strong note with gains of approx 0.80% as market
breadth remained positive. Midcaps and Small caps in todays
session outperformed gaining around 1%.
Another key factor which helped the markets to remain positive
was WPI which remained at 17th month low @ -0.85% v/s -0.91
in Feb and -2.33% in same period last year.
Global Market Updates
European indices also went northwards.
European shares tanks today with oil stocks leading the market
lower due to crude prices tumbled after a meeting by major
exporters in Doha collapsed without a deal to freeze output.
Asian shares tanks led major oil producers to freeze output
ensuring a global glut of the commodity for the time being.

Shares of Aviation & state owned Oil Marketing companies such as

Jet Airways, Indigo, IOC, BPCL rallied in today's trading session after
global crude oil prices eased after talks between the OPEC
(Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) & non-OPEC
producers to freeze oil output remained inconclusive.
LIC Housing Finance missed expectations but reported 18.5% rise in
net profit but which stood at Rs 448 crore against Rs 378.2 crore
impacted by higher tax expenses and provisions. NII increased by
26.5 percent at Rs 822 against Rs 650 crore for the same quarter
last year.
Shares of Real estate companies like HDIL, DB Realty, Oberoi
Realty have rallied on the back of bourses in late noon deal with
the Nifty Realty index surged nearly 5 percent on the National Stock
Exchange.
JK Tyre and its wholly owned subsidiary JK Asia have announced
completion of acquisition of CIL (Cavendish Industries Ltd.) which
houses 3 Tyre Business Undertakings of Birla Tyres. The plants are
located at Laksar (Haridwar) which manufacture a range of tyres,
tubes and flaps. Stock surged.
Lupin has launched its FyavolvTM Tablets received nod from the
USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) earlier to
market a generic version of Warner Chilcott's Femhrt Tablets.
Global Markets
Oil prices fall suddenly after a meeting by major exporters in Qatar
collapsed without an agreement to freeze output leaving the
credibility of the OPEC producer cartel in tatters and the world
awash with unwanted fuel.
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran were blamed for the
failure which revived industry fears that major govt controlled
producers will increase their battle for market share by offering
ever steeper discounts.

Nifty Technicals

Nifty has continued the positive momentum since last five consecutive sessions and closed strongly above the trend line
coming from all time highs. This momentum can continue till it sustains above 7780(200 day EMA) and index has the
potential to move towards the next psychological resistance of 8000.
Bank Nifty Technicals

Banknifty didnt saw as much positive breadth as Nifty and closed down as compared to its previous close. It faced stiff
resistance of 200 day EMA of 16390. It needs to hold above this value to test the trend line coming from all time highs while
on lower note any closing below 16000 can act as negative news for the index.
