Manufacturing process

I.

STRUCTURE FABRICATING PROCESS :For structure fabrication, the L-channel of size 1" is used. The approximate wt. of it per
meter is 0.8 kg. Steps in fabrication of structure are given below.

Step one:
First cut the L-channel in pieces of length 140cm (four pieces) and in 40cm (four pieces).
Then Put the two lengths of 140cm parallel to each other at a distance of 40 from each
other. Then put the lengths of 40cm on either end of two parallel lengths and weld them
as shown below. The two diagonals must be same.

Step two:

Then cut four pieces of L-channel of length 50cm and weld two of them on one end
of rectangular structure vertically using engineers block. Then weld remaining two
pieces vertically at another end of rectangular structure.

Step three:
cut the L-channel in pieces of length 140cm (four pieces) and in 40cm (four pieces). Then
Put the two lengths of 140cm parallel to each other at a distance of 40 from each other.
Then put the lengths of 40cm on either end of two parallel lengths and weld them as
shown below. The two diagonals must be same.

Step four:
complete the cuboid as dimensions (140X40X50cm)
Step five:
Attach the L shaped square hallow pipes (5X5cm) of thickness as 5mm to main
frame.

II.

FABRICATION OF TRANMISSION SYSTEM:

Step one:
First brought the crank shaft and connecting rod and place that at basic frame height
of one feet and distance from one corner is 25 cm.
Step two:
Fix the 6inch pulley at the one end of connecting rod.
Step three:
Fix the ac motor in the frame. Which is placed two feet away from the connecting
rod.
Step four:

Fix the 2 inch pulley on ac motor shaft. and transmit the power from motor to belt
through drive.

CHAPTER.4
DRIVING MECHANISM

As our project as a demo and also designed for small weight we use the 1 Hp A.C. motor. It is
having the 1440 rpm speed. We use two pulleys of two [2 inch] & six [6] inch diameter
respectively on motor and roller. One on the motor shaft and another is on the shaft of roll. The
numbers of belts required for given application is one. V-belt is used for this purpose.

Chapter. 5
WORKING OF MACHINE

Motion is transmitted from motor to pulley. Power is generated in the motor which is
transmitted to a 2 inch pulley, which is then transmitted to a 6 inch pulley which is mounted on
the crankshatf . A v-belt drive connects the two pulleys. Crank shaft and cutting arm are
connected by the aid of connecting rod which in turn generates reciprocating motion in the
cutting arms. Hence the rotary motion of the motor is converted to reciprocating motion of the
cutting arms. Arms have tool holders fixed on it, that holds the tool which reciprocate along with
the arms.
