Job opportunities will be best for applicants with computer-related work experience; a masters degree in business administration
(MBA) with technology as a core component or a management information systems degree (MS in MIS) and strong communication
and administrative skills are in increasing demand. 3 Annual mean wage for this position in Arkansas is $102,670.4

Demand for systems analysts projected to increase 22 percent from 2010 to 2020. 5
Since the work of systems analysts directly involves business systems, a degree in management information systems, including
business courses, is desired; a graduate business degree with a concentration in management information systems may be preferred. 6

Information System Manager

Information systems managers play a vital role in the technological direction of their organizations. They do everything from
constructing the business plan to overseeing network security to directing Internet operations. Information systems managers plan,
coordinate, and direct research and design the computer-related activities of firms. They work with top management to help determine
both technical and business goals and create detailed plans for the accomplishment of these goals.

Project Manager
Project managers develop requirements, budgets, and schedules for their firms information technology projects. They coordinate such
projects from development through implementation, working with internal and external clients, vendors, consultants, and computer
specialists. These managers are increasingly involved in projects that upgrade the information security of an organization.

Systems Analyst
Systems analysts are responsible for analyzing the business and technical requirements of an information system. Systems analysts
analyze current business systems, identify problems, and propose new systems. Systems analysts help an organization realize the
maximum benefit from its investment in equipment, personnel, and business processes.

Database Administrator
Database administrators work with database management systems software and determine ways to store, manage, and extract data
effectively. They identify user requirements, set up computer databases, and test and coordinate modifications to the systems. Today
database administrator responsibilities include coordinating business intelligence and data security activities.
