provide guided i nstruction as w ell as specific time i n to practice and apply the skills w e learn i n each session. At the end of
this training series, w e w ill be creating google slides w ith embedded video to use i n our own classrooms for i nstruction.

An example of an Anchor Standard from the Bilingual Grammar Curriculum by Kristin Diperri and Todd Czubec is displayed

Anchor Standard #1: ASL Sentence Components, focuses on predicate development. When given a predicate the students
need to provide an appropriate subject.

Here i s an example of a google slide containing an embedded video. The video addresses the Anchor S tandard #1
with a focus on benchmark 1.1.2.5. {Given a predicate, provide an appropriate subject}. B y having the video
available, you are now able to coach the students towards their learning objective. Creating the video in G oogle
Slides, allows for future collaboration and shared w ork files between teachers and staff.

Script:
At the end of this training session, you w ill create a presentation that contains embedded video that m eets the
instructional goal that you are w orking on i n class. We w ill break the process down i nto three training sessions
with each session allowing time for us to w ork together and apply each of the skills that w e learn throughout the
training sessions. We w ill begin by focusing on creating a video using Photo Booth.

minutes to open log i nto their devices

As you c an see onscreen, this slide c ontains an embedded video. You will see an enlarged pointer or c ursor move across the
screen, performing each of the steps required for c reating a video using Photo Booth. Each step will be explained as we go
through the process. The process i s short and you will be given the opportunity to practice after we view the process.

Now that we have created YouTube vi deos, i t i s ti me to upload these vi deos to YouTube. We wi ll use our work i ssued Gmai l
accounts to upload our videos. We will start by viewing the video c lip which will show the process of uploading the videos.
Watch the c ursor move along the screen. I wi ll explai n the process as each step unfolds on vi deo.

videos i nto YouTube. Today w e w ill create a G oogle S lide presentation and embed the videos w e created i nto the
slides. We w ill start by creating a G oogle S lide Presentation.

you are unsure of how to log onto your YouTube account refer to your notes from Training S ession O ne. You will insert one video y ou
created onto each of your slides in your presentation. Use the instructions displayed on the screen or talk with a partner. I will be

Midway through training: Before you leave the room today, please fill out the self assessment sent to y our rideaf.net account. F ormative
Assessment
(Last 5 minutes of training session) Just a reminder, use your Bilingual Grammar Curriculum Guide and choose an objective that you wish
to develop for your students. During the next training session, you will create a presentation with at least 3 slides that contain videos y ou
created. Think about an objective that you and y our students are working on that can be created during the training session.

Welcome to Training S ession Three. This i s the last training session for G oogle S lides and Embedding Video. In the
first session, w e created videos and uploaded those videos onto our own YouTube channel. We, then, created a
Google S lide presentation and embedded those videos onto each slide. Today, using the B ilingual G rammar
Curriculum, you w ill create a presentation using G oogle S lides.
