Why am I attracted to the computer science?

People have designed programs,

systems, and mechanics to ease existence since ancient times, and since then the
technologies were developed and improved. With the help of computer and softwares,
human life was directed towards improving comfort. Think of a trivial problems, such
as weighting, storage of perishable goods, the creating of text content. I want to
evolve in computer science, learn to create new programs to contribute to the
evolution of the human race through technology. Given that technology, like the
human mind does not impose limits, I am curious to know my personal limits in this
sphere and reach my full potential. In addition, knowing my traits, being a logical
person, precise and creative, I can perfectly bend over computer programming.
To begin with, I have been studying at Colegiul National Iasi, one of the best high
schools in my country, for 8 years now. Third prize at a mathematics contest acquitted
me from my exams and provided me a place at this highschool. As a result, I found
myself taking the part of logic and rationality. I started with mathematichs and then,
discovering its practicability, I focused on informatics and physics. Some of my
results are: 12th place at the Mathematics Olympiad, 2nd place place at the national
contest "Stefan Procopiu" at physics, 1st place at the county contest Grigore Moisil
at informatics. Furthermore, I joined the Informatics. Physics and Mathematics
courses within the Centre of Excellence, taking one lecture per week for each subject
at an advanced level.
My first contact with informatics was in 4th grade. I really enjoyed making my own,
unique solutions. Every time before the programme implementation I asked myself
one question: "how would I explain this solution to a child?". My teacher was proud
of me and I got prizes at contests. But the school's informatics class would only
presume resolving problems in Pascal or C++, so I was necessitated to act alone. This
is how I found online courses. On w3schools, through some courses I started to learn
JavaScript and HTML. Therefore, I assisted the designing of some sites, like
www.rockniasi.ro, www.gfest.ro, and www.asociatiamoldavia.ro. Moreover, I
completed the HTML and JavaScript on www.codeacademy.com.
In my free time I take part in volunteering which promote my native city, civic
attitude and young artist, or activities for a cleaner environment like "Vreau o tara ca
afara". Moreover, I am an active member of Moldavia Cultural Association, being
responsible for human resources department and site management. Beside projects
about helping the families in need or the children, like Fericirea din cutia de pantofi,
one of the biggest projects is RockNIasi: an anually festival which promotes young
artists through daily events like concerts.

I took part in a lot of workshops, such as Leadership Autentic, SpeakIT and

Lucratorul de tineret. My activity as an involved participant played an important
role in developing the skills required to manage a team of people of the same age or
even older than me. Moreover, I think that being part of these workshops helped me
become a strong leader, eager to share my knowledge with others and develop new
skills.
All these experiences improved my competence of interaction, teamwork, making me
more organized and punctual. It also made it easier for me to accept and understand
others, being in touch with so many mentalities and different cultures.
I see myself as an active person. I tried a lot of sports, but I really enjoyed: basketball,
being member of a team for 3 years, handball - 1 year and karate, Tae-Kwan-Do- 1
year, at least one of them being part of my weekly activities.
All in all, being a keen mathematician with a vehement passion for computer science
makes me believe that I am the perfect candidate for this subject. I strongly believe
that Denmark is the best fit for me, as I find it as the most effective way to a bright
future, giving me the chance to fructify my energy and creativity, sharpening my skills
and defining me as a person.
