Der Englischunterricht in der Sekundarstufe I knpft hierbei an die
Fhigkeiten, Fertigkeiten und Kenntnisse sowie Einstellungen und
Haltungen der SuS an, die diese im Umgang mit Sprachen
insgesamt und mit Englisch als Fremdsprache in der Grundschule
erworben haben, und bildet seinerseits die Basis fr das Erlernen

Examples in relation to training ICC with the help of literature

Your task: Take a close look at the different aspects of ICC (which are called
savoirs in Byrams model) and think about how you could train these with
the help of YA literature. Take notes for each of the savoirs.

General information:
Michael Byram is Professor Emeritus, Durham University and author of the
Model of Intercultural Communicative Competence (1997), which was

developed and used as the basis for training ICC in Foreign Language
Teaching by the European Council. Hence, the model is also used in the
Kernlehrplne and serves us as a basis for teaching ICC.
