Committed to quality
Safety and reliability are two things we take very seriously
in the final systems we provide as well as the design
and manufacturing processes we use to create them.
All VetcoGray FC wellhead products meet applicable API
certification standards.
API product specification levels
PSl 1 equipment is used when working pressures are less
than 5,000 psi
PSL 2 equipment is typically used for gas wells up to 5,000
psi working pressure, or liquid wells with H2S up to 5,000
psi working pressure
API performance requirements

Casing hanger group levels


Group 1 hangs pipe; no annular seal
Group 2 hangs pipe; seals pressure from one direction
Group 3 hangs pipe; seals pressure from top and bottom
with or without ring-joint isolation seal and
downhole lines 
Group 4 same as Group 3; hanger held in place by
mechanical means applied to a retention
feature; hanger retention is independent of any
subsequent number of wellhead components
Group 5 same as Group 4; hanger will receive backpressure valve

Performance requirements are unique to each product in


its as-shipped condition. All our products are designed to
meet specific requirements for pressure and temperature
ranges and the test fluids consistent with the material class
for which they are rated. Other requirements include load
capacity, cycles and operating force or torque. There are
two performance requirement levels, PR1 and PR2, the
latter representing more rigorous requirements.

VetcoGray's FC wellhead system is a low-cost, fastdelivery solution covering all standard API technical
requirements for onshore and offshore service at
pressures up to 10,000 psi. Our strategy for the FC line
includes fewer product variations, which increases
compatibility and interchangeability with non-VetcoGray
equipment. As a result, customers benefit from the
proven reliability and performance of our FC wellhead
system products.

Outlets

FC22 and FC29 casing heads have a straight-bore bowl


design that minimizes risk of damage to sealing areas by
drilling tools, and prevents test-plug and bowl-protector
wedging problems when pressure is applied. The design
also reduces maintenance costs and enables suspension of
heavy casing loads. FC29 casing heads provide the added
flexibility of handling high-capacity FC29-W and FC29-WE
casing hangers.

Casing spools
FC22 and FC29 casing spools have a straight-bore bowl
design that accepts a variety of casing hangers, minimizes
risk of damage to sealing areas by drilling tools, and
prevents test-plug and bowl-protector wedging problems
when pressure is applied. FC29 heads have a deeper bowl
to handle the high capacity FC29-W, FC29-WE casing
hangers.

Primary packoffs
Primary packoffs are installed on top of the auxiliary load
shoulder and seals, against the casing, and provide a static
seal between the casing string and casing head bore. This
allows the flange connection to be pressure tested without
adding load to the casing hanger.

The VG-M uses the expanding-gate operating principle


to produce a tight, positive seal for a wide range of
pressures, temperatures, material classifications and
product specification levels in accordance to API-6A.
This commodity valve line is used in normal operating
conditions where no SSV is required. It is in service
worldwide on production trees and wellhead annuli
in low alloy, stainless and H2S-resistant trims with a

marginal fields, more advanced technologies are needed
to increase reliability, flexibility, speed and performance.
Our subsea wellheads and connectors have provided

Training
In addition to extensive and demanding training requirements
for our own personnel, we provide a variety of specialized
programs for our customers. Courses range from two-week
modules to a six-month Certificate in Oil & Gas Technologies.
Training methods and course documentation is tailored to
each customers specific needs and equipment. We also
provide, multi-customer sessions, computer-based training
and can accommodate programs at customer sites, at our
regional facilities or at our main Learning Center in Florence.
Service
We provide leading inspection, maintenance, repair, spare
parts and upgrade services for every part of an operation,
in every sector of the industry and every region of the
world. GEs Oil & Gas business has 11 dedicated Global
Services centers and more than 80 manufacturing, sales and
service facilities worldwide. Our crews perform extensive on
site support, plus ongoing design, engineering and a range
of remote monitoring and diagnostic solutions that help
prolong equipment life, reduce costs, and improve performance.
