Introduction to Business:
We our group members have conducted an
interview from an entrepreneur who deals in online home based delivery
service with the name of DAReWRO which is home delivery based service.
The owner or the co-founder of DAReWRO is Mr. Tahir. They receive order by
phone or online on their website and then they fulfill that order.
DAReWRO is an on demand delivery service that connects customers with
local businesses. Through DAReWRO, you can purchase goods and have
them delivered within specified time. By building the on-demand delivery
infrastructure for local customers, they are bringing communities closer, one
doorstep at a time.
Location: Office No. 3, Jandagei Street, adjacent Marhaba IT tower opposite
to Usmania Restaurant main university road, Peshawar.
Started: 2013
Mission: They started the business with the mission of delivering your needs
at your doorstep at lowest cost and less time.
Vision: To be the best in all over the country among competitors

How this business started?


A group of enterprising young entrepreneurs have started a one of its kind
home delivery service in the city.

DAReWRO was launched in June, 2013 by five MBA graduates of the Institute
of Management Sciences Obaid Jan, Tahir Afridi, Ali Khan, Zahid and Abdul
Wajid with the slogan: delivering your needs at your doorstep at a cost of
just Rs100.
These five friends soon after graduation when planned to launch their own
business instead of waiting for salaried jobs never knew that their venture
one day be a profitable business. The ninth largest city of Pakistan inhabited
by more than a million people Peshawar is a good market for innovative
ideas like DAReWRO, the only local home service delivery of the town. The
service picks and drops items including food, clothes, medicine and other
accessories from market to home and vice versa and help people in
submitting their utility bills.
They say that We were ambitious and we invested our energy and resources
in an innovative idea, which worked. Peshawar is a very good market for
young entrepreneurs having innovative ideas,
With 35 full time and seven part time staff DAReWRO receives an average of
400 orders per day from different areas of Peshawar. People in cities like
Peshawar looking for organizations who can provide services with ease at
door steps and we have intervened at right time, said Obaid Jan, another
partner in DAReWRO.

Main services they are providing to the local
customers are as follows:
They have appointment with costumers and pick their orders from different
business points to their doorsteps like:
1) Picking up clothes from tailor

In new services of DAReWRO there are.
1) eKhareedari: which is an online market-place, based in Peshawar,
which deliver all sorts of products from major shops and outlets to their
customers at doorsteps. Products range from Groceries and Bakery to
Clothing and Electronic items.
2) Everything you and your home needs is only a few clicks away now.
3) Now anyone can order these products from any business store in
Peshawar like groceries, bakery, footwear, health & beauty, clothing &
jewelry, electronics, toys, medicine and gifts.

Meaning of DAReWRO:
Taken from Pashto language DAReWRO (We are bringing it to you) service is
registered with Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Chamber of
Commerce provide claim to provide service in the entire Peshawar district
but at the moment avoiding remote areas due to security reasons. The poor
law and order situation and attacks by militant groups have largely
influenced business in Peshawar since many years.

Importance of DAReWRO for the people:


The service has made life easy for many people like Zahid Khan, who
remains out of the town most of the time and get services from DAReWRO
for delivery of items at home in his absence. He says that I have my wife
and children at home who usually find it difficult to go outside every time
and this service brings daily use items to my home and submits utility bills
for me with reasonable service charges,

Just from a call away, this service has 70% customers from Hayatabad, an
area in Peshawar mostly inhabited by wealthy people. Riding on a bike
having a bag of items marked with DAReWRO sign Ahsan almost covers
every street assigned to him and have started understanding the demands
of his customers with the passage of time. This service is unique in a sense
that we deliver everything as demanded by customers as available in the
market, whereas other home delivery services have designated items to
deliver

Interview questions:
The following questions were asked from the co-founder of DAReWRO in his
office by one of our group member and he answered like as fallows;
Question 1: why did you prefer business over job?
Answer: During interview when this question was asked he replied that he
has preferred the business over job because he is risk taker and he
said that he is not going to be like a brick in the wall. He further said
that he has energy, time and opportunity in the environment then why
should he waste his time in searching and waiting for the government
job. Instead of searching the job he said he had an idea and they
combine the team and discuss the idea then started the business.

Question 2: How did you find a business opportunity? Tell us your


story!
Answer: In reply to this question Mr,Tahir Afridi the Co-founder told us his
story like this that they were five students of MBA who were graduated
from the Institute of Management Sciences Obaid Jan, Tahir Afridi, Ali
Khan, Zahid and Abdul Wajid, he said that we were facing ourselves a
problem of picking of something from Saddar area and other far area

from Hayatabad, so one day he said that we were setting in car and
were traveling somewhere one of our friend said that is it possible to
start such a business which can deliver products from different stores
of your choice to your home. From this sentence he said that they have
started brain storming like Obaid Jan said, After completing our
studies, neither one of us could get a government job, nor did we have
enough money to start a business, he told The Express Tribune. After
several weeks of brainstorming, we came up with the idea to provide
services to people at their doorstep in return for a small fee. And they
came with the slogan like this: delivering your needs at your doorstep
at a cost of just Rs100. Tahir said delivery services were in great
demand in cities like Peshawar due to routine traffic problems and
security fears preventing people from stepping out of their homes.

We visited the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and
Industry. However, they refused to register our organization saying we
did not have a national tax number and sent us back, said Tahir Afridi.
The marketing process for DAReWRO was not easy either as we did
not have the money to hire an advertising agency or publish
advertisements in newspapers, recalled Tahir. Our aim was to arouse
curiosity so we hired some laborers, dressed them in colorful uniforms
and made them stand around the busy squares of the city for a few

days. After a week, we distributed pamphlets among passersby and at


peoples houses. We received a tremendous response.
Question 3: What are the challenges you are facing in your business
environment?
Answer: The main that they were facing at start was the registration of new
business with government and attracting more and more customer and
the important thing is their confidents. He further said that low
disposable income of the customers which most of the customers are
spending on their foods because of less income. Now a days the
market is going to be filled by more and more competitors and they are
increasing day by day but he said that this is a positive point for our
business because at start when there was no competitors customers
were comparing our delivery time to their self-buying but now with new
competitors we can compare our delivery time with other competitors.
Question 4: What support the Government should extend to the
business sector?
Answer: They said that Government should help new business in legal and
registration. Government should support new entrepreneurs in order
they establish their business. He said that government is not even
helping new business. When we asked question about the process of
registering their business, all five partners criticized the government
for claiming to support new entrepreneurs but not acting upon the
assertions.
Tahir Afridi said that We visited the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of
Commerce and Industry. However, they refused to register our

organization saying we did not have a national tax number and sent us
back,
Question 5: What advice will you give us for making inroads into the
world of business?
Answer: To answer this question he replied that student first should prefer
his own business and should use his or her own mind to think
entrepreneurially. Student should not waste their time in waiting for
the job and searching for others to take him or her in his organization.
He or she if has an idea in his or her mind should not feel hesitate to
exploit this idea into practical. He further said that at the start there
will be some difficulty but when the business starts it will be success
with the passage of time. He also said that there are so many
opportunity in our surrounding but they need proper thinking and
grabbing of this opportunity. Content with what they have achieved,
the fresh graduates said others like them should be encouraged to
start their own enterprises rather than waiting for job opportunities to
come their way. We were ambitious and we invested our energy and
resources in an innovative idea, which worked. Peshawar is a very good
market for young entrepreneurs having innovative ideas, said Zahid
Khan, one of the partners in DAReWRO service.
Question 6: What is the importance of resources (e.g. money) and
experience for starting a business?
Answer: In response to this question he said that both money and
experience stand second, the first thing is the generation of idea and it
needs a lot time and hard work. Mr,Tahir also said that if you have
money and experience and do not have any goals and objectives and
dont have any idea to start anything new then both money and

experience are waste. For starting new enterprise this very important
thing according to him is Idea, objectives and goals, money and other
resources will be secondary resources.
Question 7: Which resources you relied on (e.g. friends, family,
banks, own funds) when starting your business?
Answer: As Mr, Tahir mentioned in his business story that they were five
friends and they were fresh graduates. He said that we generated our
idea by ourselves and then there was a person his name was Dr,
Shahidullah Jan who supported them and financially helped them. Dr,
Shahidullah Jan is also a sleeping partner of their business. He means
that friends are important resources on which we can rely when
starting new business. Because banks will not give you loan if you want
to start a new business.
Question 8: How many new products have you introduced in the last
three years?
Answer: Mr, Tahir said that at start we came with the idea to deliver only
food for the costumers but later on we have started to deliver not only
to deliver food but so many other goods like groceries, bakery,
footwear, health & beauty, clothing & jewelry, electronics, toys,
medicine and gifts. Recently we have introduced ekhareedari through
which we deliver so many goods to your doorsteps. In ekhareedari
these products can be delivered to our customers he said: Fresh Food,
Food Cupboard, Drinks, Household, Frozen Food, Baby & Child, and
Miscellaneous. In Bakery they Cakes, Pastries, Salad, Sweets (Methai),
Bread, Pizza, Snackers, Biscuits and Bakar Khani, Halwa Puri and Rus
Malai. Others are Hush Puppies, Stylo Shoes, Urbansole Shoes, Bata

Question 9: How much successful were they and how do you assess
their success?
Answer: Mr,Tahir said that they were very successful even beyond our
expectation. Because people are busy and we can say that they dont
have as much time to go after everything in this rush and traffic and
purchase goods therefore our business is successful. He said that we
assess our success through the numbers of orders we receive and
deliver daily. In today busy life people are just focusing on their main
task and cannot go far away to purchase goods and foods may be
because of laziness.

Our new service of ekhareedari fulfills all the

necessary need regarding to daily use and other necessary things for
different special events like get together or parties. eKhareedari is an
online market-place, based in Peshawar. We deliver all sorts of
products from major shops and outlets to your home. Products range
from Groceries and Bakery to Clothing and Electronic items. Said by
Mr, Tahir.

Question 10: Do you aim to introduce more new products for your
customers? Why or Why not?
Answer: Mr. Tahir said that every business needs to be expanded with
passage of time and our business also needs to be expended. He said
that we want to introduce and focus on household women who cannot
deliver their homemade products to their desire business stores. He

said that we will introduce such a delivery system for these women to
help them in their product delivery. And further he said that they will
also help to support new women who want to establish their new
business in Peshawar in their homes. He did not fully explain his future
new products because he said that these are our secrets and we dont
want to share our future plan because of our competitors.
Question 11: What are the different business opportunities available
in the market of Peshawar which we should pursue?
Answer: The ninth largest city of Pakistan inhabited by more than a million
people Peshawar is a good market for innovative ideas. People of KPK
and especially of Peshawar, they always welcome for new things like:
they have voted for PTI to bring new change and new things for them.
They take risk and invest their money just to taste how it is? As we can

can say the people of Peshawar have a craze for new thing.
Question 12: what are the risks inherent in business and how to
mitigate them?
Answer: The Risk in business we do said by Mr, Tahir is not too much at
start there was no computation but now a day competitors are too
much and we compete with everyone in our location. The thing in new
business is gaining more and more customers as soon as possible. To
gain more and more customers it needs good marketing as he said:

Question 13: Whats your opinion about the customers here in the

regarding

products? Do they readily accept them and more importantly,


do they have the purchasing power?
Answer: As we know that Peshawar is the ninth largest city of Pakistan
inhabited by more than a million people. Peshawar is a good market for
innovative ideas. People of KPK and especially of Peshawar, they
always welcome for new things like: they have voted for PTI to bring
new change and new things for them. They take risk and invest their
money just to taste how it is? As we can give the example of
MacDonald when its open in Peshawar there were a rush of people on
it because they give a try for every new things. We can say the people
of Peshawar have a craze for new thing. As we know that Pakistan has
not a developed economy system.
Question 14: Is internet having any positive/negative impact on your
business? If so, how?
Answer: Mr, Tahir said that internet play very important role in every step of
business such from start it can be used as a marketing tool and we can
advertise through it to aware our customers about our products. He
said that it has very positive impact on our business because we deal
with our customers through internet; we receive orders through our
websites like www.darewro.com and www.ekhareedari.com . With the
help of internet we are connected with our customers and we also get
feedback of our customers through internet. With the help of internet

he said we can reach to our customers in a second. And can analyses


to target our prospects. As we know today everyone has approach to
the internet by using mobile and other devices so its the best way to
interact with them through internet.
Question 15: Do you think that business persons/entrepreneurs
think and perceive things differently than others? If yes then
why is this so?
Answer: In reply to this question he said that yes I think that business
entrepreneurs think and perceive thing differently than others because
entrepreneurs search for the hidden opportunity and when they realize
that there is an opportunity then they start thinking about how to
capture that opportunity. They start thinking about that opportunity
until they find a way how to gain that opportunity. In our surrounding
there are thousands of opportunities only entrepreneurs can identify
and respond to these opportunities.
Entrepreneurs are creative they convert Innovative ideas into a
successful business. They do not wait for opportunity they grab and
generate the opportunity in the market and the respond to that
opportunity.

Thing to be reflected in the assignments are:


Talking to a practical person we gain the experience that how to enter to the
market what challenges should there in the market place how we have to
enter into the market as the co-founder of DAReWRO said that student
should not wait to find job and keep waiting for the government job. They
said that fresh graduates facing very difficulties in finding their job in
government organization because they will inquire job experience. For this

purpose new graduates should feel themselves confidants and should start
their own enterprises rather than waiting for job opportunities to come their
way.
As Peshawar is the city where people are welcoming to new business and
new things so we assessed that we should gain the opportunity in regard to
any business that is related to our field. The taste of customers is good and
they want to taste new thing and give a chance to taste for one time in a life.
Yes we want to face the music in this market where the people are
welcoming new business and they want to see new thing and new people to
produce new products for them.
Yes internet in nowadays play very important role in any business if it is
based on technology or not. For those businesses which is related to
information technology internet is more important as compare to nontechnology business. With the help of internet we can do marketing and can
advertise and can aware our customers. We can also get feedback of our
customer through an internet. With the help of internet not only we can
make network with customers we can also be get in touch with suppliers and
retailors in all over the worlds and can also get ourselves from our
competitors what they are doing and what need to be done as response to
the market?
