ABSTRACT

hypertensive patients at Interna Outpatient Unit Regional Public Hospital dr.
Soeroto Ngawi.
Precipitating factors of recurrence is very rarely noticed by the patient of
hypertension, such as lifestyle or activity patterns that are not controlled, the
knowledge and dietary compliance of patients with hypertension, and it is the
biggest factor that found in all patients with hypertension. The purpose of this
research was to determine relationship dietary compliance with recurrence in
hypertensive patients at Interna Outpatient Unit Regional Public Hospital dr.
Soeroto Ngawi.
This research is corellational with cross sectional. The population was all patients
with the old cases hypertension whom control in the Interna Outpatient Unit
Regional Public Hospital dr. Soeroto Ngawi. The number of samples are 73
respondents. The sampling technique used is consecutive sampling. The
independent variable is compliance with the diet and the dependent variable is the
recurrence. Data collection using questionnaires and the secondary data from the
medical record. Data processing techniques using Spearman Ranks statistical test
with = 0.05 and using SPSS for Windows version 16.0.
Based on the results of research on the 73 respondents, the majority of
respondents note that 39 respondents (53.3%) had sufficient dietary compliance
and nearly half of the respondents that is 32 respondents (43.8%) often recur. The
results of the statistical test obtained p value = 0.000 < = 0.05, and H1 is
accepted then there is a relationship dietary compliance with recurrence in
hypertensive patients. Value of r = 0.399 shows weak correlation.
These results prove that there is a relationship dietary compliance with recurrence
in hypertensive patients at Interna Outpatient Unit Regional Public Hospital dr.
Soeroto Ngawi. Expected role of the nurse as an educator and counselor can
suppress the occurrence of recurrence in patients with hypertension.
