Welcome
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Correspondence
3 letters have been received from Auckland Council regarding the resource
consent application, one being an invoice for the amount of $20,000 should we
decide to go ahead. Brother Faizal of Exotic has recommended we pursue with
the application.
Decision: Chairman moved that the payment be paid, Ashik seconded it was agreed that we will pursue with the resource
consent application and that the $20,000 payment will be made.

Correspondence received from FIANZ regarding the sighting of the new moon
to mark the start of Shaban as well as notification of when the night of Shabebaraat will fall.

Correspondence received from FIANZ regarding its AGM at Masjid Al-Mustafa

from 21 to 22 May.

NZMA will hold its AGM at our Masjid on 8 May costs will be met from the
Masjid Account.

Minutes of the last meeting

Minutes of the last meeting moved by the Chairman, seconded by Imraan Ali.
A discussion item was missed in the last minutes a decision was made to
more seriously enforce the condition that members who miss three meetings
consecutively will be deemed to have resigned from the Executive Committee.
[This will be actioned from the next meeting (after Ramadhan) give
the short notice of the meeting of 2 June.]
Subcommittee updates: summary of the key discussions
Madrasah Subcommittee (Imraan Ali)
Survey results will be compiled by 16 May detailed responses have been
received to the survey.
Munif has very kindly ofered to assist with students uniforms, which will be
compulsory for students.
Classes/syllabuses will be broken into 3 groups: 6-9 years, 9-12 years and 12+
years.
Imraan has requested for an assistant to the Alima on a voluntary basis.
Youth Recreation Subcommittee (Fai with support from Imam Yusuf)
The Youth Day Out event will be held on 21 May an indoor shooting session in
Kelston will be followed by an indoor sports session at another venue, after
Zuhr.
Lunch will be provided and a speech will also be made with one of the imams.
The event is for males only and for boys aged 16 years and over; those under
18 years of age will need to get consent from their parent(s)/caregiver(s).
NZMA will be approached for funding assistance, and it will be open to
participants from other NZMA branches.
A female event is envisaged to be held in the future.
Property Report (Ashik and Shahid)
It was agreed that collection tins at the entrance to the church parking lots on
Juma will be withdrawn from the next Juma; carparks are to be free, and
donation tins will be kept inside the Masjid from now onwards a notice is to
be placed on the noticeboard to this efect. The church carpark has 52 spaces.
In regards to the Masjid tent, there is an issue with the connections a
diferent type of welding needs to be done which is not readily available.

Insurance premium of $4,576.36 is due it was agreed that this payment be
made at the earliest.

Ramadhan
In regards to iftar/meal sponsorships, announcements will be made on 13 May
and the timetable will be put up around 20/27 May.
In terms of meal preparations, if sponsors are unable to do the cooking or
where volunteers are unable to be secured, Ashik will ofer to provide a
package deal as well as a deal just for cooking to the sponsor.
It was agreed that the adhaan for the Isha salat will be called at 7.15 p.m.
moved by Munif, seconded by Azeem.
General matters
Munif has been sponsoring Masjid cleaning all this while. The contractor asked
the Masjid to alter the current contract in his favour it was unanimously
agreed that the contract will not be changed and that the hours are to be
retained at 3 hours. Further, a notice is to be placed on the noticeboard
seeking expressions of interest for Masjid cleaning.
The Masjid will be cleaned on 29 May at 10 a.m. Executive Committee
members are encouraged to take part and invite others to do so, too.
The Masjid has been requested for support letters for Mufti Koshiya the
request will be facilitated.
Mufti intends to go for Hajj an annual leave application is to be submitted in
due course.
