overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02 Kathmandu Lukla flight and trek to Phakding

Altitude: 2,800 m/9,184 ft. (Lukla) & 2,652 m/8,698 ft. (Phakding)
Flight time: 30 min
Walking Distance: 8 km (3-4 hours)

Early morning transfer to the airport for Lukla flight. The flight to Lukla is a lifetime experience in
itself. The airfield is at high evaluation and the difference between the two ends of the runway is
about an exceptional 60 meters only. Trek to Phakding with an arresting, green landscape with
the view of Kusum Kangraru. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 03 Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Altitude: 3,440 m/11,283 ft.
Walking Distance: 10-12 km (7- 8 hours)
We follow the Dudh Koshi, ascending through Himalayan pine and cedar forests, to the
celebrated village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche is a historic trading post where
Nepalese and Tibetan traders exchange salt, dried meat and textiles. Besides being a splendid
destination to shop for traditional crafts, Namche remains the central trading post in the
Khumbu that attracts Himalayan and lowland merchants. You will spend two days at Namche for
acclimatization, visit local markets and spend time with your team. On the hike we capture our
first glimpses of Everest and neighboring peaks. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and
dinner included.

Day 04 Namche Bazaar - Day Hike (Everest View Hotel and Khumjung/Khunde)
Altitude: 3,900 m/12,790 ft. (Everest View Hotel) and 3,780 m/12,400 ft. (Khumjung)
Walking Distance: 3-4 km (3-4 hours)
We leave early for the hike up to the Everest View Hotel about an hours hike above Namche for
a fantastic panorama of the Himalayas and a great view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam.
After enjoying the view and relaxing with a hot coffee we continue to the traditional Sherpa
villages of Khumjung/Khunde. If you get a chance ask your guide to take you to the Khumjung
Monastery which houses the scalp of what's said to be a Yeti. Leaving the villages we circle back
to Namche via the small airstrip at Syangboche. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and
dinner included.

Day 05 Namche to Tengboche

Altitude: 3,860 m/12,660 ft.
Walking Distance: 10-11km (5-6 hours)
The uniform and easy trail leads us towards the view of Mount Everest, descending deep into the
Dudh Koshi Valley at Pungki Thanka and from this point; it ascends the right flank of the Dudh
Koshi valley to Tengboche Monastery. It is the spiritual center of the Khumbu. The climb is
lengthy, but is more than adequately compensated by gorgeous views of Mount Ama Dablam

and on a clear day, views of Mt. Everest and its surrounding peaks. Overnight at guesthouse,
breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 06 Dingboche to Dingboche

Altitude: 4,410 m/14,464 ft.
Walking Distance: 11-12 km (5-6 hours)
Descend through a beautiful forest, cross the Imja Khola and trek through the village of
Pangboche (3900m); perhaps today is the most interesting trekking because you will not lose
altitude like on other days and you will enjoy views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse & other
peaks; the route continues through pastures to Dingboche, known as the 'summer valley'.
Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 07 Dingboche to Nagerjun Hike and return Dingboche

Altitude: 5,100m/16,728 ft.
Walking Distance: 5-6 km (5-6 hours)
This would be your second acclimatization day that requires about 6 hours of trekking to an
altitude of 5100m. After breakfast, you ascend Nagerjun (5100m), a hill located on the flanks of
the Chhukung valley directly above Dingboche. The main aim is to climb high and sleep low. The
foot path becomes steep at times, resulting in a physically strenuous day. Ascending the hill
could take up to 5 hours at altitude. From this altitude there are good views of Lobuche East
(6119m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6367m), Thamserku (6608m), Kangtega
(6685m) and Ama Dablam (6856m). On a clear day, you could even see Makalu, the worlds fifth
highest mountain, including great views of the Pheriche Valley. After a short rest, you start the
descent back to Dingboche and the walk at altitude takes about 2 hours. After lunch, take a welldeserved rest, as afternoon temperatures could drop rapidly as the sun sets over the mountain
tops. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 08 Dingboche to Lobuche

Altitude: 4910m/16105ft
Walking Distance: 7-8 km (5-6 hours)
Trek along a broad valley floor to Dughla, passing the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche (4240 m).
This trek is staffed by western volunteer doctors and supported by the Himalayan Rescue
Association, which offers treatment and consultation to trekkers. Continue up the valley, gaining
altitude. We come out of the valley to descend to the yak pastures of Lobuche.

Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 09 Lobuche - Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp - Gorakshep

Altitude: 5,181m/16,994ft (Gorakshep) and 5,364 m/17,594 ft. (EBC)
Walking Distance: 13-14 Km (7-8 hours)
After a short climb through meadows, look down at the Khumbu glacier. Straight ahead is
Kalapathar - the best vantage point to view the entire south face of Mt. Everest and the
surrounding peaks. After a couple of hours we will get to Gorakshep, and continue our journey
to the Everest base camp. There is not much elevation gain, but there are a lot of ups and downs
and, combined with altitude, this can be an exhausting trek - but the journey is worth it. After
approximately 3 hrs of hiking, you will arrive at the base camp and enjoy a magnificent view of
the Khumbu glacier and icefall, where the Everest expeditions begin. Overnight at guesthouse,
breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 10 Gorakshep - Kalapathar - Pheriche

Altitude: 5,545m/18,188 ft. (Kalapathar) and 4210m/13809ft ft (Pheriche)
Walking Distance: 13 Km (7-8 hours)
Day starts with a hike up to Kalapathar (5545m). This is one of the most awesome viewpoints to
observe Mount Everest, in all its glory. You will also see other peaks of the spectacular Himalayan
range. We return to Gorakshep, for breakfast and then descend to Pheriche. Overnight at a
guesthouse - breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 11 Pheriche to Namche

Altitude: 3,440m/11,283ft
Walking Distance: 16-17 km (7-8 hours)
This is an easy walk along the Imja Khola, with a short climb to Tengboche, and a descent to
Pungki Thanka, on to Kyangjuma, and an easy trail to Namche. Overnight at a guesthouse breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 12 Namche to Lukla

Altitude: 2,800 m/9,184ft
Walking Distance: 19-20 Km (7-8 hours)

The trek continues along the Dudh Kosi River to the small mountain airstrip at Lukla, where you
will catch your return flight to Kathmandu. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner
included.
