Arrive in Hobart at 9:30AM


Pick up rental car at 11AM (Europcar)
Settle down at the hotel
MONA Museum (Tickets $25 each) [Last entry at 5:30PM]
Visit Kunanyi/ Mount Wellington Pinnacle Observation Shelter (Open til 8PM) [Drive along
Pinnacle Rd]
Explore night life

Friday 8th: Hobart

Visit Richmond to see Australias oldest bridge, oldest still-standing Catholic Church and the
oldest gaol (?)
Also see Old Hobart Town model town
Eaglehawk neck for spectacular coastal views: Tasman Arch
Visit Port Arthur Historic Site (Tickets $28 concession per person) [Area closes around 5PM]
Remarkable Cave at the south of the Tasman Peninsula
World Heritage listed Convict Salt Mines at Saltwater River

Saturday 9th: Hobart

Salamanca Markets (Open 8AM 3PM) [RECOMMENDED]


Take a self-guided walking tour of Battery Point (right next to Salamanca markets) within
walking distance of Hobarts waterfront with its many history houses dating from the first
European settlement of Hobart Town
Drive to Kettering and catch the (free by Bargain car rentals) ferry across to Bruny Island The
Neck lookout
Region is rich in producing cheese and olives

Sunday 10th: Hobart to Bicheno

Rocking Rock and Blowhole


Coles Bay and Freycinet kayaking ($110 per day for a double sea kayak) (dont need to
anymore cos of kayak at Anitas beach bungalow)
Wineglass bay walk (1.5hrs return)
The Hazards
Stargazing at Swansea? No obstructive mountains
Stay one night in Bicheno

Monday 11th: Bicheno to Launceston

Check out of hotel and head to Binalong Bay to see BAY OF FIRES [famous orange lichen rocks
in Binalong Bay]
Walk from St Helens Point Conservation Area to Beer Barrel Beach and see the spectacular Peron
Dunes
En route to Launceston: visit Tin Mining Centre and Tin Dragon Trail Walk in Derby for Chinese
settler history
Bridestowe Lavender Estate? ($10 entry)
Explore Launceston night life - Alchemy Bar & Restaurant, Bakers lane

Tuesday 12th: Launceston

Cataract Gorge: Ride to Cliff Grounds Reserve on chairlift ($15 return per adult)
Planetarium ($6 per adult)
National Automobile Museum ($13 per adult)
Tamar Island Wetlands
Grindelwald Swiss Village Attraction - aqua bike?

Wednesday 13th: Launceston to Burnie

Drive through Cradle Mountain to see the mountain of course

Table Cape (Viewed from Wynyard?)


Once arrived at Burnie, visit Fern Glade Reserve in the evening to spot platypus!
Chill (at a hotel near the beach hopefully) after a long day of driving

Thursday 14th: Burnie

Makers Workshop (?)


Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden ($10 per adult) [looks amazing][closes at 5PM]
Drive back to Launceston Airport (1hr 40mins drive)(return car, make time to do this) Jetstar
flight at 8:40PM
