Graduate Attributes
The Cebu Normal University Graduate Attributes (CGAs) are the core qualities, skills and
understandings that the CNU community agrees its students should develop and demonstrate in the
course of their studies as evidence of accomplishing the university's vision-mission. The CGAs provide
students with an indication of expectations of the Philippine society, in general and CNU, in particular.
These outcomes encourage and nurture a love of lifelong learning and community engagement. For the
faculty and staff, the CGAs are the reference points in evaluating and discussing students' work and
progress. They also provide guidance in curriculum development. The CGAs provide an opportunity for
CNU to reinforce and demonstrate its values and mission and to market its distinction.

Procedure in the formulation, monitoring and review of the VMGO

The current Vision Mission of the institution was formulated by the Academic
Council and then was presented to the Board of Regents during the Board meeting for
approval through a resolution that was passed last April 24, 2010. Likewise, the new
Graduate Attributes that were formulated by the concerted efforts of the Academic and
the Administrative Councils was presented to the Board of Regent and it is on its first
reading and review. However, while the review is still ongoing an explicit understanding
on these graduate attributes were disseminated and it served as the basis in the
formulation of the Colleges program outcome.
The BSN program outcomes were formulated through a series of meetings with
the faculty members under the guidance of Professor Oliver Malabanan. The program
outcomes were based on the institutional graduate attributes, the Commission on Higher
Education reference outcomes, Asian Qualifications Reference Framework (AQRF) and
Philippine Qualification Reference Framework (PQRF). The review of the BSN program
outcomes was conducted last September 24, 2015 and was attended by the faculty
members, students, administrative officials, alumni, BOR, CHED representatives, chief
nurses of affiliating hospitals, city health department (CHD), Health Informatics Inc.,
employers of the graduates (perpetual Soccour Hospital), Department of health (DOH)
and PTCA president.
