Wednesday 26th May 2010, as part of Wakefield Artwalk, we will gather

part in the social, educational and political history of Wakefield, since its
opening in 1752.

This exhibition puts the Chapel at the heart of the cultural regeneration
of Wakefield, situated as it is, between the Arthouse, and Beam Gallery.

Diva – Bring and Buy sale

Dig out that picture frame or canvas that was never the right size, set of
brushes you only used once, tubes of acrylic paint that you keep coming

heart, and you may find something you would like to swap it for! There
will also be a selection of fabrics (some designer!) and art materials at
bargain prices. Bring along anything or a photograph if the item is large
or too valuable and throughout the evening and next morning we will try

Wakefield Cathedral: Madeleine Wuidart – ‘Expressions of
Gratitude’

The gift of a broken wrist at the beginning of the year offered potential
challenges and transformation for an artist. This exhibition celebrates
elements that have contributed to the healing process.

The exhibition space in the Cathedral will be lit by candlelight for the
Opening Evening on the Artwalk, to echo the candlelight by which the
images were created. The watercolours have been painted using plant-
based pigments, the wet-on-wet technique allowing a distinctive
softness and subtlety in the work.
