Title I Principals Meeting

Temporary Staff Data


Temporary staff were utilized in kindergarten to support instruction of the concepts of print as
well as to conference with students using the TC model.
2014 2015 school year: 64% of kindergarten on grade level at the end of the year.
2015 2016 school year: 85% of kindergarten on grade level at the end of the year.
Reviewing the kindergarten data, in the fall 67% (33% above) of students
were on concepts of print. With the assistance of the title I temps, 14% of
students were on COP and 86% of the students were able to master the
concepts of print in the fall semester, which allowed them to begin reading
and comprehending grade level texts. With the assistance of the Title I
temporary teachers, 85% of our kindergarten students were reading on or
above grade level by the end of the school year according to Fountas and
Pinnell data.

This is a learning year for the changes of Title I law
The are considering on having a Title I principals meeting monthly in addition to
principal meetings.
ESEA is now the Every Student Succeeds Act
Now have 9 school wide components to program planning
o Changes
o Highly qualified is now referred to as High Quality
No longer have to send a letter to parents about long-term substitutes but
parents have a right to request credentials.
Alleviate the stress of finding perfect matches of credentials to match the
long term positions needing filled.
Have to demonstrate that we have done everything that we can do to find a
quality teacher.
All components to be included in SIP, have to be in SIP by law (not
streamlined)!!!
School Improvement Plans to be sent (shared) to Matt Semler and Kerry Walent in
September, SEND A PAPER COPY TO HER AS WELL.

o Drafts are due to both people by August/Early September


o Then you will get together to do a review of the SIP

o Components to be included in the Title I Grant (Suggestions)

Parent Transportation Still using cabs but having trouble to find a
cooperating company.
Professional Development
All PD should have an expectation for follow up with a planning
component for implementation. (What are you doing with this
information?) (Artifact of some sort)
Workshop pay is based off of hourly rate, take an average of
faculty pay rates and bump it up a little to determine what each
session will cost.

o Data across the county showed celebrations and areas for concern.
Progress Monitoring
o Seesaw application
Progress monitoring to show progress towards attaining a goal.
Provides an at a glance view of goals and objectives to assist leadership
to determine where the focus needs to be shifted.
Can snap a picture/video/link and upload it to the aspirational
goal/standard to continuously monitor SIP.
Creator can rate artifact based upon a school created rubric.
Teachers can collect artifacts and submit them, then creator can accept or
decline the artifacts.
Forces schools to make the SIP a living document.
This process can guide the process of selecting purposeful professional
development opportunities.
County will be referring to CFIP time as a different term, Kerry was not 100% certain of
the term, but you can continue to call it CFIP.
