Our parish community has witnessed the essence

of excellence in spirit, mind and body. Much has been
accomplished by way of pastoral leadership and faith
formation as well as by the transformation on campus
grounds, ministry and school sustainability.
It is evident that a driving force was present. A
heartfelt thanks to the efforts put in by Father Julio
Jimenez, the Pastoral and Finance Councils, the
School Board, and all of the parish ministries and
event volunteers who donated their time, talents and
gifts.
The evidence is in front of us. Our church,
perimeter grounds, and parking lots have been
transformed because of your unconditional dedication
and labor of love and faith. As a result, our
community has renewed its commitment and support
to St. Joseph Parish.
As our parish journey continues, the fabric and
spiritual essence remains strong and will become
stronger. For this and much more, we are grateful for
your support, contributions and stewardship. Please
remain involved with parish events and celebrations
such as our St. Joseph Picnic, SummerFest, Fiestas
Patrias and To Teach Who Christ Is.
Today, and in days to come, as we continue to
unify and fortify our faith and commitment, the entire
St. Joseph community bids farewell to Father Julio
Jimenez and extends a warm welcome to Father
Michael Zoufal.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SALE

The Our Lady of the Rosary Council 8214 will be
holding a sale of supplies and items that were used for
the corn roast. The sale will be held on
Saturday, July 9 and is open to the public from
10 a.m. to noon in Father Berger Hall. Items
include two folding picnic tables with built-in
benches, a large carport size tent, large
coolers, hoses, electrical cords, and many
other miscellaneous items. Anyone interested
in the remaining trailer should also come in and
discuss its purchase. It can be used as a supply trailer
for lawn and garden equipment or camping.

Im Bored!
Estoy Aburrido!
This was a phrase that I was not to use when I was
growing up. If that phrase slipped out of my mouth,
my mother would respond, Only boring people get
bored. Go find something to do or I will find
something for you to do. Of course, that meant some
type of chore. I quickly learned how to stay busy and
avoid boredom.
Our Summer Boot Camp program taught the
teachers that children still like the classic games and
activities and they had not played any of the games
introduced. So break out your old board games or run
out and get a new or junior version of Monopoly,
Scrabble, Sorry, Pay Day, or even a deck of cards.
Families can have fun playing Golf with a deck of
cards and the children practice adding integers. A
quick search on the internet can also
provide many other card games.
Children learn how to plan strategies,
learn new games, take turns, and know
how to win and lose.
Play a game of Jenga and work on
hand eye coordination. Try a new game
like Blokus, Apples to Apples,
Bananagrams, or Farkle. There are so
many different types of games that the opportunities
are huge. Your family could play a new or different
game each day of summer break.
Summer is the time to unplug the children from
the electronic devices. Send them outside for fresh air
and fun in nature. Children of all ages enjoy blowing
bubbles and drawing with chalk. Create a hopscotch
or 4-Square on the driveway. Jacks and marbles are
very old games that can still be found at Walmart and
other stores, but most of our students have never heard
or played with either.
So the question is, how will you and your children
spend the rest of the summer?

jugado ningunos de los juegos introducidos. As que
saque sus juegos de tablero o valla a comprar las
nuevas versiones juveniles de Monopoly, Scrabble,
Sorry, Pay Day, o asta un paquete de barajas.
Familias pueden tener un juego divertido
de Golf con unas barajas y los nios
pueden practicar como sumar nmeros
enteros. Una sede rpida por el internet
