"If I am lifted up from the earth, I will
draw all men to Myself." John 12:32
This past month an intercessor friend and I were sent across the country to trumpet the Lord’s heart
through prayer and worship and also to strengthen and encourage believers. Our goal was to saturate Israel
in prayer causing the spiritual atmosphere of it to shift dramatically. It is in this saturation of prayer that I
believe the desires of God’s heart will come forth. Some of his desires including salvation, revival, and the
great end time outpouring of the Spirit as promised in Acts 2.
God’s focus on me bringing my violin was interesting during these trips. It turns out, that last year some
violinist friends went through the same roads we had in intercession, yet were unable to finish the route
because their car was stolen. It seems God set me up to finish this course of worship via the violin just like
they had planned. I guess God is serious when he says that he loves the sounds of stringed instruments!
(Ps 45:8; 150:4)
The Lord spoke to me via dream the night before our first trip that it was time to gather together and
contend for His presence. That He would come like fire to as we wait on him. It was interesting to me that
later I found out that the celebration of Pentecost was coming up, and that is exactly what the dream was
about. So as we went out and gathered with believers throughout the country, my prayer to God is that he
would release his fire and wind to his people. As you read the accounts below, you can see some
confirmation of this word (specifically check out ‘Nazareth’… ‘Border crossing’ is good too. Ah, all of them
are great).
Bethel
(Place of Jacob’s dream. Abraham builds an altar; a place of worship)
Standing on the elevated water drum on the highest point of Bethel, we could
see miles in every direction. Like a launching pad in appearance was this water
drum, we ascended in worship and prophesied to every direct of Israel. A On site
mosaic map of Israel was in the center of this ‘launch pad’ and became a center Prophetic sketching
of intercession. I laid prostrate on this map as a picture of Christ’s intercession
and desire for all to come to the knowledge of Him. A solider ended up meeting
with us, so we found ourselves encouraging him, and let him play my violin. We
even got invited for coffee :).
Shiloh
(Where Samuel grew up. The place of tabernacle for 370 years)
The air was still as we stood in the center of the
tabernacle’s ruins, in the place where the Holy of Holies
once stood. The call with my shofar pierced through the
silence (well, sort of, my shofar playing is more like a
weak squeal) as we declared the gathering of God’s
people to himself and to his land. We built an altar
there, 12 stones to represent the 12 tribes gathering. Later that day in Shiloh, we were immersed in the
middle of a Jewish birthday where I played ‘Happy Birthday’ for them.
Nablus (Shechem)
(Abraham built the first altar here. Place of the valley of decision)
I worshiped with my violin over this oppressed Palestinian occupied city from
on top of Mount Gerizim (Mount Blessing). The Lord was speaking to us that
he was going to pour out his Spirit in that city, so we prophesied his
outpouring from Acts 2:17‐21. We spent significant time with the soldiers
there, and also were able to witness to some Samaritans in the area.
Nazareth
(Hometown of Yeshua)
Worship resonated through the small four walls of the prayer room there. We
were in the mists of a miraculous sign as both Jew and Arab worshiped
together the King of the universe. I joined this group in worship on the strings
and keys. Also Mayra and I got the chance to prophecy over the individuals.
Amazingly, my dream of Pentecost and the outpouring was confirmed by the
person who led that night. Another interesting fact caught my attention as I
observed that there were 11 of us that gathered in unity – the same number of
disciples that were in the upper room in Pentecost! The Holy Spirit came, and
will continue to come in greater measures as a massive gathering to pray of
both Arabs and Jews will take place this coming Sunday there.
We also visited the Synagogue church where I got to worship with the violin..
that is until I was told to stop, to late thought because the damage of
intercession was already done ;).
Tiberius
Here we visited a family and encouraged them with worship and the prophetic. They had just recently
experienced some discouragement, so I was thankful that the Lord brought us there to help and build them
up. The timing of the Lord is impeccable.
Bethlehem
Birthplace of Yeshua
Because this is an occupied territory, we were not sure if we would be able to get in to
pray. We tried to call a local friend, but the phone never got through. So instead, we
just sat on the side of the road and prayed for a good length of time. We felt as if there
had been a barrier that was set in that land keeping the things of the Lord from coming
forth. We declared this barrier to be broken, and for rivers of His Spirit to spring up.
Right afterwards, we decided to try calling our friend one more time. To our surprise,
the phone had already been connected with her, and she had been listening and
agreeing with our prayers that whole entire time! For whatever reason the Lord
wanted an agreement of three during that time! We did end up going into the city and I
released the Spirit via my violin in the Shepherd’s Field Catholic Church.
Just outside of the massive concrete walls was the place of Rachael’s tomb where many orthodox Jews
gather to pray. We were amazed at how close the line of separation was in this area. For good reasons of
safety are these walls built, yet our prayer is that unity and the love of God would draw both Jew and Muslim
together and break the wall of separation in the spirit realm.
Border Crossing
Yup, so we got stopped and had our car searched upon entering new
territory. It took a whole hour, but we wasted no time. It seemed there had
to be a reason the Lord set us up here for so long, so we prayed. Very
hesitantly I also grabbed my violin to worship next to the workers and
soldiers. Turns out as I grabbed it, one of the workers said “I was hoping
you would bring that out!” (phew!). So, worship arouse for over 20 minutes
as we waited for everything to clear. I’m not sure exactly why God had us
there, but I know prayer had to be sent up from that place in order to
perhaps keep something from happening in the future.
Beersheva
We jumped right in a small prayer meeting here. I could sense that this place of prayer was a well cultivated
well, and therefore making it a very easy place of encounter with the Lord. The world that the Lord spoke
there was how deep darkness is covering the earth, and how people’s paths may seem very unclear from
this darkness. The answer to this problem though comes from Isaiah 60:1‐2, “Arise, shine.. See, darkness
covers the earth, and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you, and his glory appears
over you.” RISE UP from the darkness Israel!
Arad
Went to and met the artist who sculpted the fountain of tears art piece. This
piece is a well known throughout Messianic Jews and also in the IHOP
movement. It dramatically and powerfully displays the drama of the Holocaust
and how it relates to the crucifixion of Yeshua. This was a very encouraging
time and receiving time for me as I learned about the processes and
adventures that Lord had taken him in prophetic art. It not only gave me vision
for God’s desire for the arts in my life, but also gave me a prospective and
greater capacity of love for the Jewish people.
