Objectives
To determine the stress developed in the rim of two wheeler, running at various speeds. And also
calculate difference between allowable stresses and calculated stress.

Specifications
Vehicle used: Honda Activa 125

Velocity (Km/hr)

T -T = 826.992 MPa
Allowable stress value T = 827 MPa

fos = 827/8.722 = 94.81777

Stress at 120km/hr max = 8.722 Mpa

Conclusion
Extrapolating the graph, the velocity at which the wheel must move so that the centrifugal
stress becomes equal to the allowable stress of material is 1168.477 km/hr which is
impossible to achieve with this engine.
