weekend was even more special. It featured a 200team field, and they shattered the previous Guv Cup
record with 58.92 pounds to take home the first-place

Kid Gloves and Brass Knuckles: The Life of Nancy

Cooper Russell will be presented by Mary Jane Bradbury,
Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Valley
County Pioneer Museum.
Against the backdrop of social and political reform
of the early 1900s, Nancy Cooper Russell was a woman
ahead of her time; she was a self-taught business woman
with the ability to take charge. Nancy helped Charles
M. Russell become the eras highest paid living artist.
Art historians consistently give her credit for being
the reason the world has the extraordinary Russell
paintings and sculptures that grace galleries and private
collections today.
Bradbury brings Nancy to life to share the story of
her chance meeting with the Montana cowboy artist who
would become her husband, about the world of art that
celebrated the myth of the West at the beginning of the
20th Century, about the renowned artist and celebrities
the Russells knew as they traveled from New York City
to the growing California suburb called Hollywood.
The program is sponsored by the Historical Society
and Humanities Montana. Humanities Montana is
an independent nonprofit organization that provides
grants and programs on history, literature and more all
over the state of Montana.
There will be an Ice Cream Social following the
presentation.

The Womens Resource Center would like to extend a heartfelt

Thank-you to the Glasgow community along with surrounding
communities for donating food, clothing, and household items.
Those items are given to victims of domestic and sexual violence
along with families that are in need. The demand for donated food
and other items remains constant as requests from our valley county
residents seems to grow. Again, the WRC extends a huge Thank
you for all your support, donations and continued efforts to meet the
needs of victims and families here in Valley County.
In addition, the WRC is asking individuals with gardens
and fruit trees to consider donating any extra produce, fruits,
berries to the WRCs food pantry; which is held twice a month
on Fridays. WRC tries to ensure that our food baskets that are
given to our clients have a well balanced diet.
As always WRC truly appreciates all donations we receive.
