Vision of an Effective Educator

consequences, and grading
~Grade work with constructive comments
and return quickly (by next class if
possible)
~Have all materials prepared/ready before
class so the lesson runs smoothly
~Keep an organized classroom
~Model professional dress
~Keep an accurate substitute binder with
up to date seating chart, class rules and
policies, class schedule, an lesson plans
~Provide a safe and constructive learning
environment for all students
~Keep communication open with teachers,
administrators, parents and students
~Be available for communication and
assistance to parents and students outside
of class/school hours
~Treat each parent, student, administrator,
and fellow staff with dignity and respect
~Believe in/encourage the success of all
students
~Respect the autonomy of each student

~A well organized classroom with ease of access


to resources, supplies, and learning stations
~A comfortable learning space designed to
engage a students interest and participation
~A quite workspace (except for discussion,
debate, and group activities) for students to work
and concentrate.
~Active student participation/engagement
~Interesting posters and displays relating to the
unit of study around the classroom.
~A mix of different teaching strategies, lessons
types, and activities to engage all types of
learners in whole brain learning
~If possible the classroom will incorporate more
natural light instead of relying on harsh florescent
lighting
~If possible the classroom will have a small
technology center and class library for student
use

~Remain open minded and respectful of


each other and new ideas even if they
dont agree
~Arrive on time and prepared for class;
enter and leave the classroom in an
orderly fashion
~Complete and turn in all class
assignments and homework on time
~Be active learners and participate in

~Manage their own behaviors and needs
