NEIL WRIGHT

Music by Bach, Franck, Mulet and Jongen


Neil Wright studied organ, piano, harpsichord and clavichord at
the Royal Northern College of Music with Dame Gillian Weir. For
many years he worked as a choral director, organist and singer in
the United States, founding and directing the Lauda early music
ensemble. After several years as assistant organist of the Brompton
Oratory, he was appointed organist of the Cavaill-Coll organ at St.
Michaels Abbey, Farnborough in 2001.

Mulet amd Hielscher
Italian virtuoso Alessandro Bianchi is organist of St. Pauls Basilica
in Cantu and Artistic Director of the Musical Association Amici
dellOrgano di Cantu. He has played and given masterclasses in
International Organ Festivals in Italy and all over the world from
Iceland to Australia.

Graham Thorpe, David Thomas, George Inscoe and Edward Hewes play a programme of
English romantic music, including extracts from Harwoods organ sonata.

JAMES PARSONS

Music by Demessieux, Alain and Mathias


As charismatic Head of Student Development at the Royal College of
Organists, James Parsons is a familiar face in music and organ education,
and is one of the organs most articulate advocates, a teacher, and an
innovative arts administrator. As Organist, then Director of Music at
Oundle School, and for twenty-five years Director of Oundle for Organists,
James has enjoyed the privilege of opening doors for hundreds of young
organists through Oundles and RCOs inspirational courses.

ANDREW FURNISS

Music by Franck, Mendelssohn and Messiaen


Andrew is the Assistant Director of Music at Methodist Central Hall and
Assistant Director of Music at Queens School, Bushey. A concert organist,
examiner and teacher, he began his musical training as a chorister at
Worcester Cathedral.

March 20th

ROBIN WALKER

Music by Lloyd Webber, Frahm (World Premire), Wesley, Rogg,


Borenstein, Grainger, Coates and Reger
Robin Walker trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London, graduating
in 2000 after six years with DipRAM, the Academys highest student award.
He now enjoys a combination of recital performance, both as soloist and
with instrumentalists and singers, with teaching and choral conducting.
He has performed across Europe, the UK and the USA.

April 17th

GERARD BROOKS

Music by Bridge, Bovet, Bach, Franck and Vivaldi


Gerard Brooks was appointed Director of Music at Methodist Central
Hall, Westminster in 2008. He is also Curator Organist of Christ Church,
Spitalfields, a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and Organ
Tutor for the Royal College of Organists/St. Giles Organ School, and for
Latymer Upper School. He has made over a dozen solo recordings,
among them the complete organ music of Eugne Gigout and Camille
Saint-Sans. He presents and plays on the Fugue State Films DVD
productions The Genius of Cavaill-Coll and Widor: Master of the
Organ Symphony.

RICHARD BRASIER

French music by Vierne, Rousseau, Widor and Durufl


One of the most dynamic young organists of his generation, Richard
Brasier is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, where
he studied with David Titterington and Nicolas Kynaston. He is in high
demand as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.

MARTIN ELLIS

Music by Guilmant, Karg-Elert, Nevin, Mendelssohn and Vierne


Martin Ellis has given recitals throughout the British Isles for over fifty
years. He began his musical career as a chorister in the Temple Church
Choir London at the age of twelve and later studied the organ with George
Thalben-Ball.

August 21st

JAMES THOMAS

Music by Bach, Franck and Reimann


James Thomas is Director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. A
former Organ Scholar at Cambridge, he lived in France for two years at
the Conservatoire in Caen and studying the organ in Rouen with
Louis Thiry.

September 18th

SIMON JOHNSON

Music by Bach, Reger and Durufl


Simon Johnson has a remarkable and multifaceted international
career as a virtuoso organist, conductor and composer. As Organist of
St. Pauls Cathedral he has been involved in all of the national occasions
that have taken place there since his appointment in 2008, including the
funeral service of Baroness Thatcher and the Diamond Jubilee of Her
Majesty the Queen.
