Reflection: The Principal was very excited when the project was proposed to her. She suggested doing the project on
5th graders because they have had the most experiences with student-led conferences and can be independent in
collecting data.

Reflection: Teachers were prepared with a lot of questions. Some were concerned that their students would not finish
their digital portfolios on time before student-led conference day at the end of February. I met with my Instructional
Technology Specialist on how she can help students out during her computer lab time because she meets with all 5 th
grade classes once per week.

Reflection: I had to also use my planning period that aligned with the Instructional Technology Specialist 5 th grade
classes to assist students who did not have sufficient data as well as helped them reflect on their artifacts. It was a
challenge to schedule the modeling sessions. However, I was given the permission to leave the classroom often
because I had a co-teacher in my classroom a few hours per day.

Reflection: I created the video using Screencast-o-matic. I edited the video using YouTube video editor. I really
enjoyed using the program and have made several videos in the past using the program. I was able to pause, review,
edit, and then post directly onto my YouTube channel. I felt very successful during and after implementation of my
capstone project. There were a few difficult times, but it was all worth it seeing the success of the new technology
initiative for students and faculty members at my school.
