Some of the rich Indians in South Africa were disappointed because Gandhi had
failed to help them, but the poor Indians love him.
These words show the situation of people that wanted a change for social justice. Many
rich people are owners of big companies, industries, factories, etc that treat their
employers in an injustice way. This kind of people always is looking for their own benefit
without regard others situation. So, if someone looks for justice and help to change
others situation, rich people interests would be affected. Like Gandhi wanted, we can
understand and analyze the situation and act for a better life for everyone.
Chapter 6
India would be saved not by doctors and lawyers, he said, but by farmers.
Gandhi tried to explain the situation of poor people in India. Their actions help India, for
a change, more than important people actions. In my opinion these words show us the
importance of each person in a society. We must be useful instead of be important. If
people work to build a society for everyone instead of look for their own benefits,
positive changes appear for everyone.
There they slept on the ground, ate simple food, and washed their own clothes.
These words are useful in many aspects of our lives. If we want to help others, if we
want to gain others confidence, if we really want to understand others situation we
must change positively the way we live.
