4 Units, 8 hrs.- wk. ( 2 hrs. lec., 6 hrs lab per

Study of operational principle of diesel and
gasoline, construction, nomenclatures of light
and heavy automotive vehicles power plant. It
includes Automotive Engine System such as; Fuel
System, both carbureted and EFI system, cooling
system and electrical system.
At the end of the course the students were
able to;
1. Know the Fundamentals of internal
combustion engine.
2. Identify the Engine Parts and function.
3. Know the Principle of Operation.
4. Know the Construction, Function and
Operation of engine Auxiliary system.

Course Description

AT 103
Advance Gas-Diesel Servicing
4 Units, 8 hrs.- wk. ( 2 hrs. lec., 6 hrs lab per
week )
Deals with the principles of engine parts and
operation, making Engine Tune-Up, major
overhauling, checking, reconditioning, fitting,
assembling engine parts, practical and scientific
diagnosis of automotive engine troubles, its
causes and remedies with actual
troubleshooting and correction using the latest
model car new electronic equipment trouble
diagnosis; operation and design of different
branches of gasoline and diesel engine.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course the student were able


to learn and perform all the 18 Learning
Outcomes as identified in this course.
