September 2015

Analyzer Update

1 In this version
This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates for most
technologies that Actix supports, with changes falling under the following categories:

New collection devices and improvements:

Added support for Swissqual version 15.1.

Added support for Ding Li version 9.5.

Added support for VIAVI (formerly known as JDSU) version 19.1-2.

Added support for Huaxing file format.

Added support for Wi-Fi in Accuver.

Improved Wi-Fi support for VIAVI.

Added support for devices ZTE MF820T and LG E985T in Ding Li.

Application Layer

Added support for Wi-Fi (data) in cellrefs, stateforms, screen layout, Spotlight KPIs,
and Data Service Analysis report.

Platform improvements:

Added the "User-Defined Scanner Streams" functionality. This feature allows the user
to perform scanner analysis based on user-defined configurations of channels and
frequencies for LTE, UMTS, GSM and CW scanner technologies.

Added support for location-based synchronization between files and devices.

Added a quick-preference Synchronization drop-down menu in Home -> Preferences


with the following options: Auto sync to stream, No cross-stream sync, Cross-stream
sync based on time, and Cross-stream sync based on location.

Added Wi-Fi access point visualization in the Map.

Added support for showing Chinese characters in Network Explorer.

Added support for recognizing Cyrillic characters during importing of cellrefs in


Network Explorer.

Documentation:

Added description of VoLTE and LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation event detection to


the Online Help.

Added documentation of cross-stream synchronization.

The recommended amount of RAM for 64-bit has been increased to 16 GB.

Known Issues:

If you wish to upgrade to the Analyzer Update September 2015 release (either 32-bit
or 64-bit), contact your regional support desk to update your license.

Wi-Fi is now an upgradable technology license. The technology license will enable
engineers to precisely analyze RF, IP and application performance over Wi-Fi. The WiFi technology analytics package will be enhanced as more Wi-Fi related technologies
become available including analytics around Wi-Fi offloading and Voice over Wi-Fi. If
you have any more questions or require more information please contact your local
Analyzer Sales Representative.

2 New collection device or technology support


2.1 Accuver Support

Added support for Wi-Fi.

Fixed a timestamp decode issue that caused out-of-sequence timestamps.

2.2 Ascom TEMS support

Fixed an issue of double counting of some TEMS events such as


TEMSEvent_FTP_Upload_Error.

Added support for setting the attribute LTE_UE_RB_Num_UL.

Resolved a problem of not decoding EVDO/CDMA messages.

2.3 Ding Li support

Added support for Ding Li version 9.5.

Added support for devices ZTE MF820T and LG E985T.

Added support for decoding and setting location information from Bluetooth GPS
equipment.

Resolved an issue of missing location GPS data in some log files.

Improving the support for fragmented GPS messages.

2.4 Huaxing support

Added support for Huaxing file format.

2.5 Nemo support

Fixed an issue where Nemo Data Transfer Status - Transfer aborted was setting Task
Completed in Task_End_Result.

2.6 Qualcomm support

Fixed an issue of missing Uu_RRC_Dropped_Event when Load Time Message Filter (LTMF)
is on.
Resolved an issue of missing information attributes such as RB, MCS, TB Size,
FrameUsage, ACK/NACK Rate, BLER, Discard Rate, Throughput_L1, RANK, MIMO Usage.,

Fixed an issue of Qualcomm .qmdl file load crashing.

2.7 Rohde and Schwarz support

Resolved a crash issue when loading certain R&S files.

2.8 Shanghai Transcom support

Resolved an issue of Analyzer crashing when loading a certain log file.

2.9 Swissqual support

Added support for version 15.1.

Added support to decode the first UL POLQA MOS attribute.

Added support to decode and set RTP protocol attributes for .mf files.

Resolved an issue that crashed Analyzer at file loading.

VIAVI support

Added support for VIAVI 19.1-2

Added support for the Wi-Fi_Throughput_DL and Wi-Fi_Throughput_UL attributes.

Resolved the issue of out-of-sequence timestamps.

Generic
Added the attribute App_Layer_Active to be set for Ping tasks also.
Resolved the issue of SMS receipts setting false incoming call setup fail events in GSM and
UMTS log files.
Improved VoLTE event detection to ignore SIP response code 422 if UE retries successfully
after the reception of the code. Analyzer does not peg the VoLTE call setup failure event
for SIP response code 422 in this case.
Improved VoLTE event detection to consider SIP response code 481 as a successfully
completed VoLTE call if UE sends multiple SIP requests BYE prior to receiving this code.
Added a new attribute, ServingSectorTechnology, to show the technology of a cell.

3 Application layer improvements


3.1 Protocol Stack Browser

Fixed the issue of not being able to add an extra column to the grid of the Service Analysis
option in the Protocol Stack Browser.

3.2 Reports

Added support for Wi-Fi related KPIs in the Data Service Analysis report in Spotlight.

3.3 Spotlight

Added support for Wi-Fi. It enables a user to view data service KPIs tested in Wi-Fi in
front-panel and side-panel dashboards, analysis screen layout, and a data service analysis
report.

3.4 Stateform

Added Wi-Fi stateforms: Wi-Fi AP measures, Wi-Fi Throughput DL, Wi-Fi Throughput UL.

3.5 Other

Added the Wi-Fi Screen layout Wi-Fi Throughput Analysis.

Added support for Wi-Fi in cellref files.

4 Platform improvements
4.1 Map

Added Wi-Fi access point visualization in the Map.

4.2 Network Explorer

Added support for showing Chinese characters.

Added support for recognizing Cyrillic characters during import.

Resolved a crash during the editing of an existing cellref import template.

4.3 User-Defined Scanner Streams

Added support for the "User-Defined Scanner Streams" functionality. This feature allows
the user to perform scanner analysis based on user-defined configurations of groups of
channels and frequencies for LTE, UMTS, GSM and CW scanner technologies. "One stream"
mode (all groups populate one single stream) and "Individual streams" (each group
populates its own stream) are supported in this release.
The Ribbon contains a button to enable/disable the feature together with the
"Configuration" button and "Mode" button. They are located on the right side of the "Data"
section, as displayed inside the blue rectangle below:

4.4 Other

Added support for location-based synchronization between files and devices. It requires
location binning to be used.
Added a quick-preference drop-down button called Synchronization in Home ->
Preferences with the following options:

5 Documentation
