REQUIREMENTS FOR A POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

1.

The applicant will submit his/her set of fingerprints on a standard

fingerprint form that will be done at any Police Station in the area of the
applicants residence.

The set of fingerprints obtained from the applicant will then be forwarded
by the APPLICANT to the Inspector General of Police, Zambia Police Service, for
the attention of Director, Criminal Investigations Department (C.I.D) by any
means possible. Attach a copy of the photo page of the passport. NOTE: That
faxed and photocopied finger prints are not allowed and will not be processed.

The application letter should state reasons for police clearance, purpose
and duration of stay as well as residential and work address in Zambia.

The prescribed fees for a Police Clearance Certificate are charged as


follows: a Zambian living abroad is US$150.00
a non-Zambian living abroad is US$225.00

The Zambia Police Service, for now, is having challenges in processing
international Money Order or Bank cheque. In this regard, you are kindly
requested to contact the Director, C.I.D for advice on the appropriate mode of

The applicant should use a courier of his/her choice to forward fingerprints

to Zambia Police Service Headquarters in Lusaka, Zambia. Applicants are


advised to enclose a pre-paid and self-addressed envelope to enable the
Zambia Police Service to send back the Police Clearance Certificate. Kindly note
that postage and courier charges will be borne by the applicants. Kindly forward
