Neck lock with wrist lock

The Jo is a natural weapon of self-defense. A broom handle pool cue can be used in place of a
traditional Japanese Jo. The first defensive position is to strike at the attacker's wrist. In
additional to the wrist, effective strikes can be against any bony area of the body.
As soon as the wrist is struck, step in swiftly and strike the neck with right wrist (which is holing
the Jo).

The trap to the neck is an advance technique and is dangerous if done improperly. Extreme
caution should be used here. This part of the technique should be practiced slow and allow the
attacker to respond to any discomfort
Use a trip to help bring the attacker to the ground. Continue the neck lock all the way to the
ground. When on the ground, swing the attacker's right wrist to the Jo and apply pressure to a
pressure point on the wrist.
