BBU3900 Description

1 Introduction

Introduction

1.1 Functions of the BBU3900

The BBU3900 is a baseband control unit.It performs the following functions:

Managing the entire base station in a centralized manner, including OM, signaling
processing and system clock

Providing physical interfaces connecting the base station to the transport network for
information exchange

Providing a maintenance channel for connection with the OMC

Processing UL and DL baseband signals and providing CPRI ports for communication
with RF modules

Providing ports for communication with the environment monitoring devices

Two BBU3900s can be used to expand the capacity.

1.2 Appearance of the BBU3900

The BBU3900, which has a case structure, is 19 inches wide and 2 U high. It can be installed
in a indoor space or outdoor protective cabinet. Outdoor solution is applicable to outdoor
scenarios such as basement, balcony, corridor, and garage. Indoor solution is applicable to
indoor scenarios such as office and house. Figure 1-1 shows the BBU3900.
