Standards Reflection Interpretation

Kelly Kretschmer
A community of stakeholders and students must have a shared vision with administration.
The skills needed would include the ability to develop clear intentions for the future of the
students and community, a plan of inclusion for all, and a way to mobilize people to action. The
weight is on the administrator to share these clear ideals with the community. With a group
mentality and passion of people, a sense of pride will permeate the school climate and
community support.
The learning environment created and maintained by administration is critical to a students
success. The learning is driven by the environment with the most basic needs met for both
students and teachers. A clean, uncluttered space provides a professional and comfortable
atmosphere for students, staff, and guests in the building, along with a strong, clear vision shared
amongst teachers and students. The culture and climate are a top-down process that begins with
building leadership and the need for continuous progress in the building.
The ins and outs of a schools systematic body must run smoothly to keep educators and
students focused on learning. Management of operations include physically and mentally safe
classrooms and grounds. An effective learning environment that is organized and clean allows
the learner the greatest possibility of focused learning. Leaders must assess the students, staff,
and resources to maximize the ability of all members in the building.
Meeting the needs of all students means that were supporting the learning and social well
being of each child. The community puts trust in the schools to help build the futures of their
children to give them power and boundaries, freedom and guidelines. Using the resources of
our staff, students, outreach programs, and community members allows us to meet the diverse

needs of our students. Seeking information from the community and students allows us to
provide the best environment possible.
As an administrator, you are always under a microscope. Honest and open policies allow the
leader to process and carry out the jobs duties in an ethically sound way. Fairness among staff
must be shown with integrity regarding adults. Fairness among students must be shown from
adults and teachers. Using your principles of democracy and equality will ensure each students is
part of a healthy, thriving building.
As a leader of a school community you have influence over a large population. An
administrator must always have a pulse on what is happening in the community and immediate
school system regarding political, legal, and economical standings. As the strongest advocate of
the school, administrators must be able to articulate the thoughts and standings of the school as a
whole, not as an individual.
