Aphasia Group Organization: provided education, support, and resources to those
whose lives are touched by aphasia and related neurogenic communication
disorders
Pleasant Valley Medical Center
Point Pleasant, WV
Provided outpatient speech-language pathology services, including treatment,
screenings, in-depth evaluations, and administering plans of remediation for a wide
range of patients with varied etiologies
Conducted daily administration of inpatient services, including bed-side
swallowing, language, and cognitive evaluations as well as Modified Barium
Swallow Studies
Patient population consisted of primarily children in B-3 and school-age children
with special needs
Advanced Clinical Practicum II

Health South Rehabilitation Hospital

Provided inpatient speech-language pathology services, including screenings, indepth evaluations, treatment, and administration of treatment plans for patients
with cognitive speech-language and swallowing disorders
Conducted both group and individual cognitive rehabilitation treatment
River Park Hospital

Conducted daily cognitive speech language and swallowing screenings of newly
admitted geriatric patients presenting with psychiatric and emotional problems

Research Experience
Marshall University Concussion Consortium
2015-2016
Includes orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, primary care physicians, pediatricians,
physical therapists, nutritionists, educators, chiropractors, exercise physiologists
and athletic trainers who are working together to educate the Tri-States athletic
and academic communities on return-to-play and return-to-learn standards for
concussions.
Attended two sessions with a department professor due to interest in SLP
involvement in school-based concussions
Independent Research Study
Spring 2014
Springfield College

Completed independent research study on the effects of print referencing on
emergent literacy during shared book reading experience in pre-school aged
children
A randomized experimental trial that examined the effects of print referencing
styles on four preschool-aged males
Presented the concluding results to the college community
