INTRODUCTION

My study on CHILD ABUSE is the national or international issue. CHILD

ABUSE is the abuse, mistreatment or hurt done by adults to children .It often
means abuse done by a childs parents or another caregiver. Injuries to the skin like
punching, scars, burns, & neglect is the signs of the child abuse.
Talking about these things and helping children who suffer from child abuse is
very important, but some people do not believe it could happen in their country,
neighborhood or family. They like to think these crimes are far away and so they
cant see if a child nearby are in danger .
Child abuse is the physical or mental injury, sexual abuse or a exploitation,
negligent treatment , or maltreatment of a child under the age of 18 by a
person who is responsible for the childs welfare under circumstances which
indicate that the childs health or welfare is harmed or threatened..
My study includes some major findings i.e.; physical abuse, sexual
abuse, emotional abuse & parental neglect .I hope this small research will receive
warm response from its readers.

To provide information

the end of my study.

Limitations of the study:

As it is a secondary data limited source
of research.
Due to shortage time of research and
resources, I couldnt get primary data.
Limited source was a limiting factor.

Askyourself
Who would ever want to hurt a
child???

No one, you say.

SOURCE : INDIA 2013

HOW TO SAVE A CHILD ABUSE VICTIMS LIFE:

If youre a neighbor who suspects abuse in a family, report it to
your local authorities, be it police, child protection agencies, or
family members you witness visiting the suspected victim.
If youre a teacher who is suspicious of a childs recent loss of
school days, notify the principal; make it a point in meeting with
the family, and make a choice of saving a childs life.
If youre a friend of a suspected victim, tell your parents of your
suspicions. Make them see the reality of your suspicions and help
them in getting help for the child that is being abused!
If youre a family member who has witnessed your niece,
granddaughter or grandsons abuse, call the authorities

immediately. The actions of a family member weigh heavy in the

decision to investigate the family.
If youre in a social authoritative position and the case is sitting on
your desk, investigate. Letting a case fall through your fingers can
result in feelings of guilt that you were allowing the child to
continually be abused and eventually their death is hanging over
your head! But remember that the abuser is always the person at
fault.

HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH KIDS:

Communicating with kids isnt easy, especially for difficult subjects
like child abuse. Good communication with children will establish
trust and help to reduce stress in your relationship. Its hard, but not
impossible, especially if you keep these tips in mind:
Establish rapport. Rapport comes from friendly, honest, face-toface adult/kid relations. Welcome their suggestions. Laugh at their
jokes.
Teach decision making. Allow your children to participate in
decisions affecting their lives. Confidence in making simple decisions
in their lives will help to prepare them for the more difficult choices
they will face on their own. Foster a sense of responsibility for

decisions and an understanding of consequences. Encourage your

child to explain the reasons for their choices to develop their
understanding of values.

CARING ADULTS:

WHAT A CHILD NEEDS MOST?

Children depend on many adults as they grow up. Parents,

relatives, teachers and child care workers all provide children
with love, support and guidance.
No one wants to see children grow up with fear, anger or
neglect. But no one is born knowing how to care for children.
Sometimes we make mistakes that hurt them.
Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a relative or a caregiver,
you can make a difference and help the children you love grow
up in a caring, loving environment. Adults don't have to be
perfect, just willing to listen, learn, grow and change.
