Action at the Northeast Montana Fair

Rodeo fans witnessed some top-notch talent at the very
well attended Northeast Montana Fair PRCA Rodeo
held Wednesday and Thursday, two beautiful evenings
despite a little drizzle of rain that first night. But thats
what having a grandstand is all about! And it looks
like tonights weather will be more than cooperative
for an outdoor concert featuring River North playing
from 6:00-8:00 followed by JT Hodges and headliner
Emerson Drive wrapping up the night. It sounds like

concert goers are in for a good five hours of country

music. Two major events on Saturday to wrap up the
Northeast Montana Fair will be the 4-H/FFA Livestock
Sale and the Milk River MotorSports Demolition Derby.
The buyer pre-sale viewing of the market beef, hogs
and lambs will begin at 3:00 with the sale beginning at
3:30. The demolition derby calcutta will get underway at
6:00 followed by the Childrens Museum LaLa Palooza.
The first heat of cars is set to clash at 7:00.

When Timmy went in for an interview at ABC company, he was
hired after a very brief interview. A little skeptical at first, Timmy asked the
company representative a few questions. It went like this:
ABC: Trust me, this company could really use someone new.
Timmy: If there is too much work, Im going to quit...
ABC: Wed NEVER let something like that happen.
Timmy: Do employees get every Saturday and Sunday off?
ABC: Thats a granted.
Timmy: Are employees required to work overtime without pay?
ABC: No way. Where did you even come up with such a ridiculous idea?
Timmy: Are meals subsidized?
ABC: You BET.
Timmy: Do the new employees usually end up doing ALL the work?

Timmy: If I did well, would I ever become a manager?
ABC: Yes. Absolutely.
Timmy: Wow. Is this for real?

After working there for several months, Timmy noticed that the job
wasnt panning out the way he had been promised. Quite upset, he went to
file a complaint to the HR dept. The next day, Timmy was summoned into
the managements office, where they threatened to fire him for voicing out.

Letter to the Buzz

Rebuttal to Mr. James Wallings Editorial

James Walling writes in his article Semantics Matter

in the July 27th issue of the Glasgow Courier that, White
people matter. Policemen and policewomen matter. The
thing is, Black Lives Matter is a civil rights movement
which insists that black lives matter too.
Mr. Walling tries to make the case that we,
Northeastern Montanans I assume, fail to see the bigger
picture of civil rights in this country. Unfortunately, his
attempt to clarify some of the language only serves to
highlight the division in this country and seems to favor
the rights of one group over another.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was enacted into law on
July 2, 1964. It states that no one may be discriminated
against based on race, color, religion, sex, or national
origin. This is the law of land. Yet, Mr. Walling seems to
insist that it is not enough. Rather, that the law of the land
should somehow be more applicable in the protection of
one particular group.
If anything, the Black Lives Matter movement is only
a symptom of a larger problem. From the White House to
the pulpit, the deaths of minorities are being made into a
political issue. The Civil Rights Act legally ended the issue
of discrimination. Everyone in this country is equal.

Is there racism in America? Of course.
Can racism be stamped out in America? Perhaps, if
people stop politicizing every tragic death in this country

Dan Taylor will bring

and using those deaths to further an unclear agenda, which

is exactly what the Black Lives Matter movement, and its
supporters, are intent on achieving. Their stance is less
about equality than it is about gaining political clout.
This is not a perfect country, but Her ideals are
perfect in intent if not execution. It is built on the idea
that individual rights matter. It is built on equal protection
of the people. The police in this country are tasked with
equally protecting Her citizens; what seems to have gotten
lost in the noise surrounding this issue is that there are
populations on both sides who disregard the laws written
to protect citizens. There is more than enough anecdotal
evidence of misdeeds on both sides to show blame can be
equally shared.
While Mr. Walling marginalizes Ms. Laumeyers and
Mr. Collins viewpoints, they are exactly what this country
needs, unification and an understanding that all human
life is valuable and precious. The law-abiding citizens
who make up the largest majority of this country consist
of people of every race, and we will not be swayed into
thinking that any group in this country is systematically
being oppressed.
No Mr. Walling, we clearly understand the issue;
please keep your brand of semantics to yourself. This
community does not need the managing editor of a local
news source using a tone and tenor in his writing that
sounds like a pretentious professor lecturing white rubes
on the plight of minorities in this country.
