Water purification treatment are mostly using synthetic coagulant with mechanical
stirrer, which is provides risk of health because synthetic coagulant, for example,
alum, produce the floc of sedimentation in the form of aluminium which is a
heavy metal and also result to rust. In addition, the use of mechanical stirrer cost
is more expensive. And also need maintenance tool that needs to be done on a
regular basis. The research was carried out to observe the effects of drumstick
(Moringa oleifera) seed as natural coagulant to replaces synthetic coagulant with
the use of hydraulic stirrer to replaces mechanical stirrer.
Utilization of drumstick (Moringa oleifera) in water purification technology by
using hydraulic stirrer baffle-channel flow reactor being able to lose in a row of
turbidity, pH, CaCO3, calsium, ferum, copper, zeng, sulfate, ammonia, nitrate,
nitric and cyanida at 86, 4%; 10,4%; 59%; 22,7%; 98,1%; 96,6%; 92,2%; 88,9%;
60%; 13% and 37,5%. The results of the quality of water purification with
Moringa you have to meet the standard quality standards about clean water that is
permissible.
