Vision, Mission & Goals
Vision
The Siksha O Anusandhan University will be a leading institution of higher learning in its
chosen areas of concentration, preparing future generations through quality teaching and
innovative research and will emerge as a comprehensive and socially inclusive University in
the country for professional advancements in related disciplines.
Mission
1.
2.

Educate students to become responsible, enlightened, and productive citizens;

Conduct scholarship and promote entrepreneurship that improve the human

condition;
3.
Serve business, education, government, health care systems, and community; and
4.
Enhance the cultural environment of the region.
Goals
The University will have the following as its primary goals:

To develop students to make them outward and forward looking;

To develop research and teaching programs of the highest quality in a selected

group of emerging and innovative fields and disciplines;

To serve the community through innovative programs in teaching, research, training,

continuing education, health care and extension service;

To be ethical, with a commitment to justice, culture, democratic principles, and the

environment.
Attainment of these goals will be demonstrated by strictly adhering to the following themes:

Academic Distinction
Student-Centered Institutes

Professional/Technological Advancement
Transcultural Opportunities

Institutional Collaborations and Corporate Partnerships

Physical Environment

Civil Engingeering
Civil Engineering
Colossal innovations in micro and macro structural designs and
the introduction of new materials have revolutionized the oldest
branch of engineering i.e. Civil Engineering. The expanse of
Civil Engineering today, assimilates other branches of
engineering and specialized areas due to the sophistication of
designs and construction. The Department of Civil Engineering
reflects the contemporary trends in the offered programmes :
1.

B.Tech in Civil Engineering

2.
3.

Dual Degree in Civil Engineering

Dual Degree in Civil Engineering & Management

4.
5.

M.Tech. in Structural Engineering

M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering

6.
Ph.D. Programme in Civil Engineering
To facilitate the teaching learning process experienced faculty
members with required qualification and consistent research
activities, create an open and innovative ambience for the
students. The focus is on students understanding of theoretical
concepts and frameworks and intensive application training in
laboratories. This is further supplemented by taking the students
for industrial exposure and field study.
The following laboratories have been set up for training,
research and development with environmental safeguards :

Geo-Technical Engineering Laboratory

Transportation Engineering Laboratory

Concrete Laboratory

Environmental Engineering Research Laboratory

Surveying Laboratory

Computational Laboratory
Structural Engineering Laboratory

Fluid Mechanics Laboratory

Water Resource Engineering Laboratory

Advanced Research Laboratory

Hydro-Meteorological Laboratory
