What happened in Tokyo?

We are praising God for all that He did in and through our ministry this
summer! Matt and I (along with Melanie, our coworker) were privileged to
take a team of twelve students from Kentucky, New Jersey, Kansas, and
California to reach the second most unreached country in the entire world,
Japan. Our team partnered with the JCCC ministry in Tokyo to reach out to

three campuses: Rikkyo, Waseda, and Keio University. Each week our team

spent about twenty hours on these campuses getting to know Japanese

students by asking them questions about their culture, and explaining that
we were from a Christian ministry in America. Japanese students usually
claim they do not have a religion. Some may follow what their families
even heard of the God of the Bible or Jesus. As our students took steps of
faith to share the gospel, some of the Japanese friends we made were
eager to know more and our our team was able to continue conversations
with them over the course of our 4 weeks there. As a result, our team had
125 spiritual conversations, shared the gospel with 52 students, and saw
two young men place their faith in Christ this summer! God was so
unbelievably faithful from the start of this mission to the very last moment.
Gods light is beaming through the darkness in Japan. What a pleasure it
was to serve alongside the Lord to help plant seeds into the hearts of the
students around the world. We are so grateful for your contribution to this
mission and for being a part of reaching Japan!

Kimmy and Winnie met up with Miki

several times over the 4 weeks we were in
Japan. The last day we were in Tokyo,
they accidentally found her in the train
station and were able to give her the
Japanese Bible they had bought her! (It
was definitely a God-moment!)

Luke met with Chito several times

over the summer and on the very
last day we were visiting his
campus, he prayed to receive
Christ!

One of our team members, Leane, had a friend shed

made from her university as a study abroad student
meet us at the airport. Chihiro goes to Waseda
University, one of the campuses we visited, and they
were able to have many spiritual conversations this
summer. We are still praying that Chihiro becomes our
sister in Christ soon!

Matt and his campus team celebrated with donuts the

day that Takao (not pictured) prayed to receive Christ.
Since that week, we have been unable to get in contact
with Takao and are praying his decision was sincere.
Many students in Japan have a high fear of cults
(which are surprisingly common there). We have a
suspicion that someone may have convinced him that
we were a cult, but we are continuing to pray for him
and trust the Lord of the Harvest to work in life
through the Holy Spirit.
