Eliminates the transit looking for a space.

Less time when parking and simplicity in location.

Less parking internal pollution.
Avoids the reverse circulation in blind corridors.
Allows to occupy bays difficult to visualize.
Free bays are easily detected even before leaving the
parking. Real increase of spaces.
Optimum management of the parking. Profitability.
Management and occupation programmes following the
concessionaire requirements.
The possibility of managing different parkings simultaneously.

As from the user's point of view when a

parking is highly occupied, as a result of the
lack of free spaces, he is requested to
circulate through the diverse areas of the
parking looking for a free bay. This action
even more difficult due to the architectural
characteristics of parkings in general. The
very narrow access corridors and reversing
areas, the existence of blind corridors and
the difficulties in finding a free space among
a full line of parked vehicles make this
operation even more difficult. For the
aformentioned, nowadays the systems are
designed to speed up the access to free
spaces.

As from the parking management's point

of view, the possibility to know exactly the
number of free spaces, contributes to a
better management of the available
resources.
On the one hand, the economical
prejudice of not using those bays hidden
due to its location is avoided as all spaces
can be occupied. And on the other hand,
the client will not be frustrated as he will
find a space to park easily.
The SGPL system is the ideal solution for
this type of problems. The SGPL system is
designed as a modular and also scalable
system which can work as autonomous
aplication or can be integrated in the
parking payment and control systems.
Only some sensor units can be installed in
those spaces which are conflictive due to
its location. Or also a large installation
could be carried out in the whole parking,
including the car-guidance system to the
closest free bay.

Sensor with red light:

Occupied bay

Operation of the whole system is based on the

full/spaces detection module. The function of
this device consists in detecting the free/full
status of the assigned individual bay in the
parking. To cover this demand, the DPO-100
sensor for full/spaces has been developed.
The sensor determines if the assigned space
where the device is installed is free or with a
vehicle. Moreover, it contains a light visual
indicator whose color reflects the status of the
bay at any moment, i.e. green for free bays and
red for the ones full. This allows the driver a
rapid identification of a free bay just with a
quick glance.
The information obtained from the detection
system could be integrated with other systems
already in service, such as the information
pannels which allow the user to know the
number of free bays available at an area or the
guidance system which indicates the users
accessing the parking, the shortest way to get
a free bay.

DPO-100 Detectors
The DPO-100 full/spaces sensor developed by
SICE, allows to know with total credibility the
occupational status of the parking bays. Based
on ultrasonic measurement techniques
microprocessor controlled, the DPO-100
permits to distinguish should the bay is
occupied or not, not being affected the
information supplied even if pedestrians walk
over the area.
The information is transferred in automatic
mode to the control center and moreover it is
reflected in the visual lighting signal which is
inserted in the sensor. Therefore, the user can
make out even before entering into the corridor,
should some bays are available. Other
advantage of this system is the possibility of
working in autonomous mode, this means
whith no communication network and with no
control center. In this case, it would only show
visual information to the user.

Sensor with green light:

Free bay

All the detectors are linked through a network interconnecting all parking areas. Therefore, the information
could be centralised using one or several Control Centres. With this system it is possible to obtain realtime detailed information regarding parking availability, as well as the status of each parking zone, either
from the Control Centre, or from one of the manual cashiers.
One of the most interesting aspects of DPO-100 detector system is the extreme simplicity of installation
tasks. It is only required a couple of single core copper cables to perform the installation. These cables
transmit data from the detector to the Control Centre and also bring power supply to the units. Detectors
are installed using a bus topology, allowing up to 64 detectors on each bus section (bus branch). Each
section also could cover up to 1000 metres.
Each section could be connected to the networks using a repeater, generating a tree structure. Therefore,
the expanding capabilities are enormous, allowing the progressive expansion up to a total of 4000 units.
Each detector should be placed on the ceiling, located just over the central point of the assigned parking
bay. Should the parking architecture difficult the correct visibility of the detectors visual status, those
visual indicators could be duplicated at a more convenient area.
