Today I finished my presentation for tomorrow about gut health. I made a
handout for the people who attend. I am also making a recipe for the presentation. I
went on a house call with the RD to help a women breastfeed her baby. Her left
breast was hurting but the RD gave her tips and tricks to help the breast produce
milk.

Today I gave a presentation to the MCHD employees about gut health. I
provided them a sample of gluten free gut friendly waffles. I then went on a house
visit to two families who have TB and need to get their medication. The health
department provides the medication and a care coordinator needs to watch the
patients take the medicine to make sure it was taken. The first lady did not answer
her door but the second family did. I then worked on projects for Pam.

This morning I worked on re-doing a poster on sugar content on common
beverages. I am putting real sugar into bags so the patients can see how much
exactly is in each bottle. I set up the board and make sure all the bottles and sugar
bags would fit. I also wrapped up some other projects I was working on for the
MCHD.

This morning I went to a food pantry near downtown Indianapolis. I had a
snack to hand out to the people there with nutritional information. Not many people
wanted the snack or the information. It wasnt a great turn out like I had hoped. In
the afternoon I went to a food bank and helped the clients shop for their food and
make sure everyone was taking the appropriate amounts. It was really fun to help
out at the food bank and see how it works and how many people in the community
it helps.

This morning, I went on another breastfeeding consultation with Pam. We
have been working with this mom for a few weeks. It is great to see people taking
advantage of the resources that we provide. Pam took me out to eat for lunch today.
In the afternoon, I met with a WIC breastfeeding lactation peer counselor to discuss
her role and exactly what she does/
