The Beatles were a British pop- rock band during the 1960s, and was recognized as the
most commercially successful in the history of popular music. It was born in Liverpool, on
1962 by John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass, vocals), George
Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). Based on the rock and roll
of the 50s, the band later worked with different musical genres, ranging from pop ballads
to psychedelic rock, often incorporating classical elements, among others, on an
innovatively way. The nature of their enormous popularity, which had first emerged with the
"Beatlemania", transformed while their compositions became more sophisticated,
extending its influence not only on the musical way, but also in the social and cultural
revolutions of the 1960s.
With an initial formation of five components that included Lennon, McCartney, Harrison,
Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best, the band built their reputation in Liverpool and Hamburg
clubs over a three year period since 1960. Sutcliffe left the band in 1961, and Best was
replaced by Starr the following year. They established as a professional group after Brian
Epstein offered to be their representative, and the creativity of producer George Martin
made their musical potential better. They achieved commercial success in the UK in late
1962 with their first single, "Love Me Do. From there, they were wining international
popularity, which made a large number of tours until 1966.
After 1970, all members embarked on successful independent careers of varying length.

However, it is difficult to give an exact date when The Beatles were formed. In the
second half of the 1950s, John Lennon and his friend Peter Shotton formed a band
they called The Quarrymen, which in 1957 was added Paul McCartney, followed
shortly by George Harrison.
The Beatles, however, had begun to compose and perform their own songs, and
already enjoyed some fame; they played in small clubs in Liverpool, as The Cavern
