ABSTRACT

THE CORELATION BETWEEN FASTING BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL AND WAIST


CIRCUMFERENCE OF UNHAS MEDICAL STUDENTS BATCH 2015 (SUPERVISED BY DR)
OBJECTIVE : The objective of this study is to examine the corelation corelation
between fasting blood sugar level and waist circumference of unhas medical
students batch 2015
METHOD
: This observational study is using a cross sectional analytic method in
which we gather the required data by direct peripheral blood collection on subjects,
we then analyze and interpret the gathered data. We are using the total sampling
method for the data gathering so that all of the consent students are within the
inclusion criteria cathegory. This study is conducted in Unhas Faculty of Medicine
from october to december 2015

RESULTS
: From 99 acquired male and 200 female samples, we gathered the
numerical data of age, body weight, body height, body mass index (BMI), waist
circumference, fasting blood sugar (FBS) level, and blood pressure. Statictical tests
result come out showing a weak correlation between the two variables on male
subjects (p ; r) and no meaningful correlation among the female subjects (p ; r)

CONCLUSION
: There is a slight correlation between the two variables on male
students of unhas faculty of medicine batch 2015, but none on the female students.
