Objectives:

1. To differentiate growth from development.


2. To identify and explain the basic principles of
growth and development.
3. To describe the different developmental domains.
4. To cite implications of the developmental principles
on learning.
This topic orients the learners on the basic concepts
and principles of child and adolescent development.
As future teachers, said topic is deemed significant as
it gives them not only a perspective of what to expect
from their learners but also of their learners
characteristics and needs which are essential when
dealing with them and when choosing for appropriate
activities and teaching strategies.
Show pictures that depict changes.
Ask learners of their observation on the pictures and
draw their insight with regard its connection on growth
and development.
Let them share on their knowledge about the
