Class Policy
ATTENDANCE:
Only a maximum of 6 absences is allowed (i.e., seven or more absences will result to a grade of
5.0, regardless of class standing).
A student is considered tardy if he/she comes 15 minutes after the start of the class. A student
is considered absent if he/she comes 20 minutes after the start of the class. The 3 lates:1
absence rule of tardiness will be implemented.
Valid excuses for being absent: medical emergency, official representative of college/university
to an official school-related event (e.g., local/international conference), death in the immediate
family as proven by a death certificate. Other reasons not mentioned need to be evaluated by the
instructor first before considering valid or not.
Excuse letter for absences must be obtained from the DEANS OFFICE ONLY and must be
submitted on or before the class session immediately following the absence. Please note that the
Deans office may require you to present a medical certificate
In accordance with the University Code, the lecturer may inform the Office of the Vice
Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA) of 2 or more successive absences. The OVCSA may
then contact your parents or guardians regarding your absences.
There will be no make-up for missed quizzes. A comprehensive final exam may be given for a
missed exam provided the student has a valid excuse for missing it.
Cellphones, cameras and other electronic gadgets cannot be used during class.

NOTICE FROM THE DEANS OFFICE:


Any form of cheating in examinations or any act of dishonesty in relation to studies, such as plagiarism,
shall be subject to disciplinary action.

ON EXAMINATIONS:

Only your student number (not your name) should be included to dispel doubts about biases in
grading essay questions
Personal belongings will not be allowed on desks during exams, including cell phones and other
electronic gadgets which can be used for cheating.
