FUTURE TRENDS OF LTE CAPABILITIES FOR RESOURCES

MANAGEMENT OPTIMIZATION

ABSTRACT
Long Term Evolution (LTE) has been known from the very first time as a technology with an
extraordinary Quality of Service (QoS) behavior due to its wide bandwidth, among other benefits it
holds. Within LTE scope, the information is handled as data packets, an all IP packet system,
leading to think about possible ways in which this traffic demand can be properly classified,
arranged and satisfied according to the QoS requirements e.g. packet scheduling, channel
conditions, and so on.
In order to implement this process, it is necessary to introduce the traffic prioritization concept, by
means of the such called Static Priority strategy usage, as well as the cooperation work among the
layered structure of the LTE system, encouraging the information exchange between those layers
related to the nature of their packets, e.g. voice and data priorities, while maximizing radio
resource utilization. In this seminar work, it will be reviewed and presented these capabilities:
prioritization strategies within the resources management framework, which the LTE systems face
and aim as coming goals.
