Aaliyah of Grace in the Mud sits with a simple black background and tank top to show off her beauty during a photo shoot provided by Colette
Oswald, left, and styling by Lisa Michaels. This was through a partnership with Grace in the Mud and the Haddonfield business owners to provide girls a unique and meaningful learning experience they otherwise may not have gotten.
in my life I can remember (one
time) that anyone said anything
really positive to me (in my adolescence) To this day I remember how big that was. So I welcome the chance to lift them up a
little and encourage them, and
make them feel good about themselves, Lisa Michaels said.

plans trip
to Grounds
for Sculpture
The 65 Club is not standing
still, but on Tuesday, Sept. 27, the
destination will be the Grounds
for Sculpture, in Central Jersey.
The Grounds for Sculpture is a
magical place where art and nature interact. There are more
than 270 sculptures, by renowned
contemporary artists, each positioned on meticulously landscaped parkland full of thousands
of exotic trees and flowers. After
ample time for your individual
tour, the charter bus will head to
Mastori's in Bordentown for a
four-course meal including soup,
salad, entree and dessert. Bottomless beverages, as well as cheese
and cinnamon breads, are included.
The bus will depart from
Wedgewood Swim Club at 10 a.m.
returning around 4 p.m. The cost
for the entire package is $60.
Reserve your place with a
check to the Haddonfield 65 Club,
at 110 Rhoads Ave. Haddonfield,
NJ, 08033. For more information,
contact Bill Brown at (856) 4294368 or billbrown08033@aol.com.

exit exam for graduation has been reduced almost in half from 25 in 2012
to 15 currently. Concerns range from
low passing rates preventing a large
number of students from graduating
to simply too much testing.
New Jersey, though, feels differently.
State Education Commissioner David
Hespe says the 2021 effective date of
PARCC as a graduation requirement
will give school districts and students
enough time to adjust to the new test
and improve upon their scores.
Lets hope hes right on that last
point, as only 41 percent of test takers
passed Algebra I last year and only 44
percent passed 10th-grade English.
We tend to agree with Hespe on this
point, though. Many students who
took the test the last two years knew it
