Wednesday

Bible Reading: Luke 20:27-40; Hebrews 1:1-9; Prov. 18; Isaiah 1-2

Bible Reading: Luke 21:1-19; Hebrews 2:1-9; Prov. 19:15-29; Isaiah 6-8

Based on yesterdays passage (Jn 7:40-52), we learn

that those who speak up for God will be criticized. Read
Pauls description of the criticism he received in 2 Corinthians 6:3-13. Identify what encourages Paul as a criticized
spokesperson for Christ. Pray that you would find encouragement in the same ways.

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may

gain wisdom in the future, (Proverbs 19:20). Those
who are to be wise in the future must hear counsel and
receive instruction today. They must be willing to be
taught, willing to be advised, and willing to be reproved.
A person does not control the future, however, through
accepting instruction a person may gain wisdom so
that they will be better equipped in the future. If any
of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who
doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed
by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he
will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, (James 1:5-8). Pray and
ask God, in faith, for wisdom and for a willing heart to
receive it.

Read the blog post by Eric Davis titled 3 Differences Between Christianity & Other Religions. The post can be found
at www.thecripplegate.com and will be a few posts down on
the main page.

In Hebrews 2:10-18 we see that Jesus glorious sacrificial

suffering and death required Jesus to partake of humanity.
Jesus suffered as a human, especially in His death. Jesus was tempted in every way yet did not sin (Heb. 4:15).
Jesus knows our spiritual infirmities since He experienced
the full range of temptations. The result is For because
he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help
those who are being tempted (Heb. 2:18). Pray and praise
the Lord for the help He provides in times of temptation
knowing that No temptation has overtaken you that is not
common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be
tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he
will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able
to endure it (1 Cor. 10:13).
