Mock Interviews (45 min)
Explain the mock interview process to the students. Give each student a
copy of the mock interview evaluation form and briefly discuss.
Organize students (either on volunteer basis or based on age, last name,
first name, etc..) and have them sit in the hallway in order.
Due to the number of students, 2-3 interviews (1 mentor per interview) will have to
go on simultaneously.
Each interview should only last between 8-10 minutes. (Please set timer
to ensure the interview doesnt run over because time is very limited) The
interview outline is below.
A Mock Interview Evaluation form should be completed for each student during the
interview, and a total score should be calculated at the end.
Please write your name on the generic HLI business cards provided and give to
student at the completion of the interview. Hopefully, they will use this information to
properly follow up with the interview.
Students should complete their copy of the mock interview
evaluation form after they have completed the interview
