1. Scope and Objectives:
This course aims at exposure to various technologies used in conversion of wind
energy into grid-quality electric power. Particularly, techniques of estimation,
aerodynamic principle of working, analysis for design development, operation &
maintenance,grid-integration and power quality, etc., will be focused. Students
will be introduced to practice of systematic study, research and accelerated
learning,through preparing self-notes for exams by referring to use ofweb
resources. The opportunities for learning and evaluation will be incorporated in
consultation with students of the class and their needs.

IMPORTANT Note: In the Final Evaluation of performance of students, the Open Book
evaluation components will carry minimum of 20% Wt, as above. The final score for
Quizzes will be averaged over all quizzes conducted. All evaluation components
including Quizzes will be based on Take Home Assignment, to be announced in regular
classes. Attendance in regular classes will be recorded for evaluation and grading. A
student absenting himself/herself in ANY ONE of evaluation components will
automatically qualify for award of NC, i.e., NOT COMPLETED grade.
Make-Up Policy: Make-up requests will be considered only in extremely genuine cases.
No Make-Up will be granted for Quiz component, to be conducted during classes. Also,
no make-up will be granted for scheduled Tests/Examination, if student has absented
himself/herself for more than 10% of total number of classes conducted during the entire
period for the Test/Exam. Student is advised to attend all classes.
