ABSTRAK

Pembuatan batako dengan penambahan abu ampas tebu dapat juga dipakai sebagai
bahan pengganti sebagian pasir. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh
terhadap sifat fisis dan mekanis batako dengan penambahan abu ampas tebu, yang
dilakukan dengan perbandingan bahan campuran batako, yaitu semen : pasir : air
adalah 1 : 4 : 0,5. Abu ampas tebu dicampur dengan variasi: 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%,
dan 50% menggantikan sebagian fungsi agregat (pasir) dengan mengurangi massa
pasir sebesar massa abu ampas tebu tersebut dan sebagai pembanding dibuat
campuran dengan kadar abu ampas tebu 0%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
penggunaan 10% abu ampas tebu dalam pembuatan batako memiliki karakteristik
yang lebih baik,yaitu menghasilkan penyerapan air 11,9%, densitas 1,81 gr/cm3, kuat
pukul 0,014x106 J/m2, kuat tekan 9,50 MPa, dan kekerasan 90,7 HB.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE INCREASE IN BAGASSE ASH OF SUGAR

CANE ON THE PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS
CONCRETE BLOCK

ABSTRACT

The concrete block manufacture can be with the increase in bagasse ash of sugar cane
can used also as the replacement material of some sand. This research is done for
know the influence on the physical characteristics and block manufacture mechanics
characteristics with the increase in bagasse ash of sugar cane, that is done with the
comparison of the material of the block manufacture mixture, that is cement : sand:
water is 1 : 4 : 0,5. Bagasse ash of sugar cane is mixt with the variation: 10%, 20%,
30%, 40%, and 50% replace some functions of the aggregate (sand) by means of
reducing the sand mass of this mass of sugarcane bagasse ash and as the standard is
made by the mixture with the level of sugarcane bagasse ash 0%. Results of the
research show is use 10% the bagasse ash of sugar cane in the concrete block
manufacture has characteristic is better, that is water absorption of 11,9%, density of
1,81 gr/cm3, compressive strength of 9,50 MPa, and hardness of 90,7 HB.
