Medical Technology Research Project

Research and find an example of medical technology or medical device. Your medical technology can be anything
that this is currently used in the health field. Examples include, Pacemaker of the heart, Automatic External
Defibrillator (AED), MRI machine, CAT scan machine, x-ray machine, artificial joints, genetic engineering, etc.
Please research and choose 3 devices to research in case you do not get your first choice. You will only research
one device, however, each student in class will have a unique medical device. No two students may research the
same technology, unless by instructor approval.

Once your research area has been approved, you will present your technology in front of class as a small trifold or
poster project in a short 3-4 minute presentation. Your trifold will also be accompanied by a 1-2 page, double
spaced, 12-point font paper. Your project will be graded by the following rubric. Late projects will lose points
each day they are late.
Poster/Trifold Requirements (30 points):
1) Big Bold Title
2) 3-4 Pictures of your device in use
3) Complete, detailed explanation of your device
(what it is, how its used, why its used, etc)
4) Overall Neatness, quality, Typed (not handwritten)
