hours medical advices and consultation regarding
health. It aims to enable the people to take more
informed decision regarding their health. The
service is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
It is a health Information dissemination service
through a call center by a group of doctors in

in Bangladesh. The objective of this service is to
provide the people of Bangladesh with 24 hours

Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, under the supervision of


the Ministry of Women and Children affairs, takes a
new project called "Tottho Apa: Empowering
Women through ICT towards Digital Bangladesh"
The goal of the project is to create a group of
women who will get women related information
using ICT tools like mobile phone, Internet etc.
These women, in turn, would go to the poor women
and offer them a wide range of services including
traditional and commercial services at a nominal
price. To empower women twelve agent inbound &
outbound contact centres are established with all
required hardware and software. The call centre
agents are trained accordingly to provide the
service. The service can be accessed from all
telecom operators in Bangladesh by dialing 10922
from the subscribers mobile/land phone.

Enhancing Quality Seed Supply Project is being
implemented by BADC, BRRI, and BARI and The
Seed Wing; Ministry of Agriculture will coordinate
and oversee the overall implementation of the
project on behalf of the Government.
The "Enhancing Quality Seed Supply Project
(EQSSP)"
has
another
component
called
`Enhancement of Seed Monitoring System (ESMS)'
which will be directly implemented by Seed Wing,
Ministry of Agriculture. The main objective of the

The project was aimed to develop a Web Portal for


the collection, analysis and dissemination of
information, GIS mapping of WSS data, as well as a
Smartphone application for mobile-to-web data
capture and dissemination in provincial areas. The
system funded by the World Bank Water and
Sanitation Program (WSP) provides the following
solution:
Creation of a joint open data monitoring
platform, a one-stop shop M&E web
dashboard for Open data Monitoring
Coordinating stakeholders and producing
reports on WSS activities in Bangladesh
Smartphone application for mobile-to-web
data capture and dissemination in provincial

Very recently, Synesis IT has implemented a
national
e-TIN
(electronic
tax-identificationnumber) project where 1.5 million tax-payers are
getting services online that enables improved taxgovernance. This is the first project of Bangladesh
Govt. where a citizen can have certificates online
without any physical interaction and the first
project of Bangladesh Govt. to use digital
certificate. This is also the first project of
Bangladesh Government to integrate NID database

from Election Commission, Company database


from RJSC. This automation is providing services to
1.5 m tax-payers. It also prevents fake TIN
issuance and its misuse, enables improved tax
governance and helps better fiscal year planning.

There are more than 30,000 secondary and higher
secondary education institutes across the country.
DSHE is the managing and controlling authority of
these institutes. It is also concerned with education
policy related matters. Earlier DSHE had to collect
various education information (teachers, students,
MPO, results, performance, extra curriculum
activities, logistics, infrastructures information etc.)
from more than 30,000 education institutes like
School, College and Madrasha across the country
through hardcopy questionnaires which took over
years to collect, compile, validate and finally to
present reports. Right now, all sorts of on-demand
information can be collected directly from an online
portal www.emis.gov.bd and generated varieties of
dynamic reports (analytical, graphical, GIS etc.) ondemand basis that are tremendously helping policy
makers to take quick decisions. The Up gradation

It is related to Citizen Services. Dhaka is the capital
city of Bangladesh and one of the most densely
populated cities in the world. Around 20m people
are living here. Water and sewerage related
problems are very common in Dhaka city. DWASADhaka water supply authority is responsible for
water supply in Dhaka. Every day more than
thousands water and sewerage related complaints
are coming from the Citizens. Though the
management of DWASA has a good intension to
take care these complaints but they were totally
failed to gain trust of the citizens. They didnt have
any tools and techniques to manage complaints.
Thus, the aim of the project DWSSDP financed by
ADB was to establish Grievance Redress
Mechanism in DWASA. For this reason DWASA
established Help-Desk in all MODS & Revenue
Zone. To enhance the service facility to the client
DWASA decided to establish a Call Centre/Help
desk centrally named as WASA Link. The project
of WASA Link was aligned with DWASAs vision to
provide better service to its customer by providing
easy access to its complain addressing system by
covering the following areas:

The Government of Bangladesh and the World
Bank are jointly introducing Union Parishad Help
Line (UPHL) to provide the Union Parishad Act,
LGSP-2 projects, Village court and UPGP related
information. The concept of UP Help Line is aligned
with the Government's Access to Information (A2I)
program and the Right to Information act. The goal
of introducing the UP Help Line will be to improve
the local governance by ensuring access to timely,

accurate, relevant and updated UP related


information to the UP functionaries and citizens.
The Helpline is component of LGSP-II which is a
project of World Bank & Local Governance Division
(LGD). UPHL disseminates information to chairman,
members and citizens of 4,000+ local Government
administrative units to improve the service delivery
and the local governance. It ensures better local
governance, transparency, less audit objections
and
empowerment
citizens.
