Service provision conditions

1. Electricity and water connection requests are subject to KAHRAMAA predetermined timetables and priorities as they go in line
with the phases of the projects for electricity and water network
expansion and development, and electricity and water connection
for all buildings and institutions in cities and rural areas that run as
per funds allocated for these projects and in accordance with the
plans approved by UPDA.
2.

KAHRAMAA inspects the internal electricity and water connections

at all buildings and institutions to verify its safety and conformity
with the standards, specifications, as well as the legal and technical
roles applied in this regard. The Corporation is responsible for the
connection works by setting the service direction and way and size
of the point of delivery as per the installed and requested electricity
loads and customer needs of water.

The electricity current is connected to one single point of delivery

or tap via the existing low voltage network, if not, KAHRAMAA can
request the customer to assign a site for a new distribution network
inside the building or constructing a separate room for the station
at his own expense without demanding any compensation. Water
is connected to the requested building or institution through the
water distribution network via one secondary connection for each
new building or institution. When necessary and based on the opinion of the concerned department, more than one secondary connection can be made, upon the approval of the MD or his deputy.
The units and equipment of the substation shall be an integral part
of the public electricity network where the Corporation can apply
the necessary amendments and changes to supply service to other
customers in the area or upgrade the network.

If there is a difference between the actual point of delivery and that

determined by the Corporation, or between the electricity load or
water needs and that in the building permit approved plans, the
Corporation can suspend service connection until a settlement is
made including reconsidering the connection cost.

5.

The required cable of electricity supply and pipe for water supply
are installed after getting the approval of the concerned authorities.

6.

The owner / customer as appropriate shall:

a. Pay the connection fees as set by the connection law applied in
the Corporation.
b. The electricity and water installations and thermal insulations at
the building or institution shall comply with the standards, specifications, legal and technical rules adopted by KAHRAMAA. The
Corporation shall not hold itself liable for any damages that
may be incurred due to the bad installations or non availability
of switches for circuits that feed parts or units of the building /
institution especially parts where the installations are not completed for.
c. Maintain all equipment, devices of electricity and water installations, and meters inside his own premise
d. Admit the employees of the concerned department, at appropriate times, to inspect the internal network, read and maintain
meters where he can ask them to show ID.
e. Take all necessary procedures and precautions to secure and
maintain the service cabinet (electricity and water), water valve
cabinets, electricity and LV cabinets, transformers, secondary
distribution substations as the conditions of service connection
to the building or institution as per the conditions and specifications issued by a resolution from the council.

rent connection to the building or institution, as per the electricity

and water connection law:
a. Apply any additional loads to the building or institution
b. Apply amendments to the circuits, meters, LV panels, water
joints, valves, protection and service connection devices, etc
c. Chang the use of the building or institution or use the buildings
assigned as substations or other facilities of electricity or water
network and installations into other use.
d. Violate safety regulations or KAHRAMAA relevant legal and
technical rules for electricity and water installations.

buildings and institutions where there is a building permit (electricity and water) unless the payment of connection charges or cost is

the Customer Services Department is responsible for receiving bulk

customer service provision applications as per the conditions stated in the building permit and the agreement between the customer
and the concerned departments. The departments shall determine
the size and type of loads and connection way as per the plans and
the project building permit.

10. The temporary connection applicant shall:

a. Submit the approval of the concerned municipality
b. Pay the charges as per the law applied in the Corporation in
addition to paying the consumption Deposit paid back after the
financial clearance
c. The Corporation shall not incur responsibility for any damages
due to the bad installations or the unavailability of switches on
the circuits that feed parts of the building / institution especially
parts where the installations are not completed for.
d. Clear all the due water consumption charges of temporary connection of water service and change the status of the point of
delivery from temporary to permanent.
e. If there is a contrast between the actual point of delivery and
that determined by the Corporation, or between the electricity
load or water needs and that in the building permit approved
plans, the Corporation can suspend service connection until a
settlement is made including reconsidering the connection cost.
11. The period of the temporary connection is determined by KAHRAMAA as per the approved rules and regulations.
12. The devices and equipment installed by the Corporation for the
temporary connection is part of the public network where the Corporation can restore all or part of them after the permanent connection where the temporary connection is unnecessary.
13. The electricity and water connection works are subject to the relevant laws and regulations of procedures and charges of electricity
and water current connection and the laws and regulations of electricity and water connections works.
